This game is awesome!!! I really want this for my desktop as a little minesweeperesque casual game when I'm thinking about my world domination plans!!! The sound and graphics are so well made and that whole game is so fun! I really have to thank you for this gem! The only thing that bugs me is the daily message that hides some of the gamescreen which makes me wait to click the lower fields!
Thanks ruerob for the comment. I'm porting it now to other platforms and cleaning it up. Really pleased with how it came out. I also plan on putting a small delay on the messages before they pop up so you don't have it cut off some much but I noticed that too.
Fun! It's a simple game but still difficult (I played on Medium). I had to click back all the way out to leave instructions but that's minor. This is a great submission for the theme.
Got an IndexOutOfBoundsException on my first try, when the map loaded. Not too sure how to reproduce it: it was on Hard mode, and everything worked fine on the second try.
A minesweeper-like hint system would have been nice; reduce the randomness a bit. Got a map with roughly 6-7 tiles of grass; still managed to find 4 heroes through sheer luck, but it's a bit annoying to lose to a dice roll.
Assets are well made. Game overall is short but quite fun.
Thanks NIGIC for the feedback. There is actually a minesweeper-like hint system but it's subtle: grass is #0, trees is #1, hill is #2 and mountains is $3. I'll look into the OutOfBoundsException so thanks for pointing that out.
I really like the mechanic you used for combat. It is simple but effective.
The music was good and same with the art.
If this was developed further more some more depth I'd play more of it.
Good work.
Art and music set a great mood for this fun game. I really enjoyed playing it, it fits the theme and the concept is really cool. Wish there was a desktop version available as well, but WebGL build worked well.
I loved it! This Quick Time action feature is awesome and innovative for this time of game. the graphics fit really well, so does the music. So far the game with the most replay ability that I played here. Got to go, I gotta play some more! Great job!
Great entry! I really liked the style as well as the minesweeper-esque gameplay. Everything is very cohesive and fun. The minesweeper thing doesn't immediately read (got it from the discussion) but that's easily solvable. Good job by all involved.
I'm glad that I finished the music for this instead of finishing my own game entry, ha. But, really proud of being part of this team. Jesse did a great job on the game design and implementation. It's really fun.
My major grip with the game is the "X days remaining" message appearing every turn, it feels unnecessary with the day counter, and it's particularly annoying that it can't be skipped when you want to click on bottom tiles. It's a fun concept though, would like to see it expanded with more levels. Love the retro aesthetic too. Nice work!
Thank you very much for this little jewel!!!
(+1 vote for moving the message box.)
