Anzu: Revelation by Polith Games

This is our entry for ludumdare #36. This time, the theme ancient technology did not leave us confident enough about what we would do, so we decided to go for it with a puzzle based game.
Anzu: Revelation was made to entice the player to search for clues using an elder device, solving the enigma of the ancient stone and being freed.

Anzu is the shortest game we've ever made, the theme was hard ande we spent several hours thinking in possibilities...but... we finally have something to show to you guys.

I love the title art! Everything feels very polished and complete. The invisible paintings were a nice touch. Good job!

The game may be short but I think it is normal, you only had 72 hours. You made a nice game, I love the idea of using the lens device to find out the answer, it has a lot of potentail. It is also a very polished entry: art is cool, music goes well with the game, they both create a nice atmosphere.

I love the atmosphere and the graphics. Serious. I like this type of art better than most photo-realistic stuff. I wish I could find more first person games in this type style. IAnd yes! For jams, don't worry too much about "short" games. That's the most beneficial both in terms of time management both on the developer's end and us gamers. Great job!!!

As others have said, the art is nice. Too bad it wasn't much of a puzzle though... :(

Minor nitpicks: Double-check your spelling and grammar! (Spelling of "strength", etc.) Also, the mouse cursor is not locked to the screen, which makes playing your game pretty awkward on your web build. (It would be nice if you also linked your web build separately on its own web page!)

Innovation: The lens filter was a neat idea! Would have liked to see more done with that.
Fun: Was a fun experience given how short it was. Wish there was more!
Theme: This was a difficult theme to pull off, IMHO, but you guys did fine!
Graphics: You guys actually did a really good job on the graphics in the game. The hidden symbols on the walls, as mentioned before, were a really nice touch. Other than that, the slight distortion on the lens filter was cool, and I appreciated the fact that the floor wasn't just a flat plane. Nice attention to detail!
Audio: Music fit pretty well!
Humor: N/A
Mood: I think the graphical atmosphere and the music combined to give the game a nice feel.
Overall: Not too bad given how short the game was. Try to get a bit further next time now that you're comfortable working in 3D!
