The Gallery by Kavehes

[raw]
made by Kavehes for LD32 (JAM)
You are the new owner of "The Gallery", an art gallery in the center of the town. But surviving in this world will be tough and what is your weapon to try to survive to the tons of visitors you will get ?
Paintngs.

- Help your visitors by showing them what painting they like according to how they are drawn (If they are painted in colors, show them a colored painting).
- Click on the arrows to change the path of the visitors.
- The more a painting is liked, the famous it becomes and the more you will get by selling it to the auction.
- Upgrade your gallery and show more of your paintings.

(I made a mistake for the version uploaded on time and for now you won't be able to satisfy colored painted guys in the beginning because paintings in color are too expensives, sorry about that)

Originally i wanted to do a tower defense with painting but little by little it became a gallery simulator in which you redirect the visitors to the paintings that suit them the most.

It still missing audio and since my computer decided to crash at the last moment i didn"t took the time to correct little detail here and there (and i forgot to change one value so you might play with half the paintings actually if i didn't changed it in time)

Interesting idea - I am just missing the unconventional weapon a bit - what is it?

Really neat presentation and style. It's a somewhat loose interpretation of "weapon" but I'm perfectly fine with that.

You must like drawing. A lot.

Nice art theme, a game mechanic around the variation of art styles is very unique. Though the varied sketchy aesthetic works well for the ingame art pieces themsslves, a more sleek and uniform UI and map could make this game look a lot more professional. Good job!

Liked the original gameplay and graphic style a lot. I'm not sure about the theme. I played a lot, but I'm a disaster! XD

Interesting idea. However, it was quite buggy.

Good concept: art as a weapon... kind of.

Really interesting strategy element. Doesn't match the theme well, but I never really liked the theme anyway xP

One of my favorite entries -- creative and well designed. I love the way the patrons are drawn to match their preferences. The financial system based on auctions is unique and challenging. Unfortunately, due to mismanagement, I ended up with only 1 painting in my gallery and universally hated...

One minor complaint - the responsiveness of changing the arrow directions is not great. I sent people the wrong direction a couple times.

J'aurais préféré qu'on se tire dessus, qu'on se tire juste dessus ! Avec des bazookas et des kalachnikovs...

Quite strange. I liked some of the ideas you had, and the art you've drawn is lovely! I think auctioning should be interactive or more rewarding - at the moment each reset is earning me more money and yet feels like a punishment, because the bar keeps filling and emptying and takes a long time.

Wow, this game is incredible. Fix the interface a bit (and the English...guessing it's not your first language?), add some sound, and I'd definitely pay for this game. It's a great, very unique idea and very addictive.

Very good idea. But it's very difficult to start play normally. You need add more rich tutorial, which guide you step by step in the game.

Very interesting. I didnt really understand the theme though. Is the artwork your own then? Strange but unique game. well done.
