Disaster Theatre by 12 Pechás Of Souls

made by 12 Pechás Of Souls for LD32 (JAM)
You're the director of the hot new theatre play in town, but your actors are being completely useless! Some of them learned the wrong script, and it's your job to make them behave!

You can use your megaphone, imbued with your directive prowess, to shoot a script towards an actor, who will learn it instantly and perform that part, and you can take their old script for another actor! But you have to be quick, because as we all know the internet age has reduced the patience of everyone, and your audience will quickly grow annoyed with your actors' incompetence!

==================================================
====================== Instructions ====================
==================================================
-A and D to move.
-Left click to shoot your current script
-On the upper right you'll have a brief line of text describing the script (for instance, "What a big mouth you have!" is Red Riding Hood's script)
-Click on the icons on the lower part of the screen to change between scenes.
-On the lower part of the screen is the audience's current satisfaction for each scene, don't let it fall too much or you'll lose!

Lovely! I occasionally had trouble aiming, but I'm playing lying in bed on a touchpad so that's probably my fault. Prettiest game I've seen so far, the music fit, and it was pretty fun, too.

I think there's a good idea in here, but it's so confusing at the moment. It definitely requires a familiarity with individual lines of literature which I don't have. It's pretty hard once you jump into a scene to work out who is who, and what they should be saying.

Still I think it's a really interesting idea.

Does "Idle" actually go to someone, or is it used to just get another script? The audience boos everytime I use it.

Lovely graphics! And it is an innovative gameplay! I had a bit of trouble figuring out what to do, but after a bit of trying, it started to make sense... The feedback to the user could use some impromevemnt (e.g., showing that you hit a wrong person with the script - it took me a while to realize I am doing something wrong)

It is used to get another script when you start :)

@GanonsSpirit the second one. Notice we are changing scripts so if we don't have an "auxiliary" one it would be impossible to do it.

But as you mentioned, It has not much sense the audience bossing with that. We will fix that

Beautiful assets, really good work. But it is a bit too hard to find out whose actor need the script.

Really nice graphics and animation. I feel it might work well as an educational game - it does rely on outside literary knowledge, which might be unfair on the player. The gameplay was innovative and unique, and a really nice take on the theme, I think.

The "Idle" script was really confusing for me too. Other than that the idea is fun and I love the watercolor graphics and the little animations!

A little confusing but once you get the hang of it it's a great game.

had a bit of trouble with aiming at first, but once I got the hang of it, everything was cool. The music is AMAZING...loved the graphic puppet style as well.

Neat concept, and well-executed, especially the music and graphics. I didn't have much problem finding the right person to give a script to, but it wasn't easy to figure out how to "save" a failing scene.

Very nice in many areas. I think the game is trying to tell me that I shouldn't work in theatre. :D

Awesome watercolor style! Cool idea, though it's not always obvious to find the matching play and actor (especially with lines like 'Idle' and '...')

Your idea is really original, I liked the graphics and the way the characters were moving like puppets. The game is hard though: it can be pretty difficult to guess which line belong to which chacter of which play. And since every play takes place at the same time, you have to aim in haste...and fail a lot X')

Loved the art style and the unique mechanic! It was a bit difficult to understand what to do, but I think I got it at the end. :)

Absolute chaos. I wish my drama classes were like this.

Some response on success would help the player gauge when they're going in the right direction.

I like the watercolour art style, fits the game very well.

Beautiful waterpaint graphics and nice music, interesting mechanics but a bit rough from the start. What should I do with --empty script-- for instance?
Very enjoyable anyway.

@slowfrog your megaphone changes the script of the actor and the one woy have selected. --Empty script-- doesn't belong to any actor but you may need to give it to someone just for getting their script

It looked fantastic, but it was really tricky to play. Perhaps as others have commented, improving the feedback to the player would make it easier to understand when the player has done something right or wrong.

Very well done, the Graphics were beautiful, the music accompanied the game very well. This is such a fun and creative concept :D. I hope this game does well.

Only problem was that occasionally getting the script to go into the person you want it to was hard.

Good job!
