Eye in the Sky by OnePixelMonster

[raw]
made by OnePixelMonster for LD32 (JAM)
*NOTE: You can play solo on the keyboard. Use asdw for Guy and the arrows +rshift for the Eye)

Eye In The Sky is an very unusual two player coop action rpg.

The unconventional weapon is a magnifying glass. It is also what you see the game through; the dungeon, the avatar and the monsters are all tiny (ant size, really) and need magnification. Its like playing in a minimap :)

Both players use the same controller, at the same time. Any XBox-like controller will do.

Player One controls Guy the Unlucky, a cursed adventurer lost in a dark dungeon. Player Two controls The Eye, an ancient artifact bound to Guy the Unlucky. Guy depends on the Eye for protection and light. The Eye depends on Guy to pick up ammunition for its deadly ray.

It can be played solo, but you'd be missing out on the experience. So whip out your controller, grab a friend and give it a try :)

EXPECT BUGS!!!!

Notes: keyboard is supported as well... but its nowhere near as fun. Unless you use it WITH the controller... It was suppose to be a compo, but I ran out of time. So jam it is!

fun to play and surprisingly intuitive. Good job.
i had sometimes the problem, that the view drifted to the left. i guess it's because the joystick of my controller don't return to the center 100%. A bit more tollerance in the camera moving script should fix that.

I found it a bit difficult to focus the aim on ants because of whatever grid the magnifying lens would snap to, but the idea is quite innovative and it was a good use of the theme. I had fun with it :)

Very cool idea! Good job! I played that with a friend and it really worked out. It's fun to yell at each other ;) Good concept and good game for such a short development period!

Bravo for making a two player game that still works single player. I wish I'd had a second player, though; it seems like that would be the most fun. I don't like the movement for the guy, though.

Really nice idea, it reminds me of the winner of the last Ludum Dare with the entire level seen through a lens. The control could be smoother to be easier to handle. Also, the menu music gets annoying pretty fast.
Anyway, these are details, it's a good game overall, nice job!

Played it with my wife! We enjoyed it, and it had us yelling when we knew we were going to die.

Another game that WOWed me. WOW!

Can't wait for the full polished version of this if you're going to make one! Although, this looks quite polished already.

Fun stuff. Easy to play and a good idea, wish the keyboard controls had some smoothing on them though.

Great idea and you implemented it really, really well. The limitation of this game is human multitasking, it's just too tiring to make the mental switch between "eye" and "character". That said, I'm really impressed with the polish on it.

Cool idea. I played it single player, but it was still pretty fun. I actually considered doing "magnifying glass" as my unconventional weapon, but I'm sure I wouldn't have done it as well as you.

So I played this one by myself, though I didn't have much trouble (I imagine part of the challenge is cooperation). This feels like it would be really fun to play with someone I was intimate with. The overall mood was calm and relaxing. I found the jokes to be cute. The graphics were alright, nothing wrong with them, though I think there needs to be a bit more variety with lighting. I had fun, but this may be one of the more innovative games on here.

ended up playing both roles which made it a little difficult to play. didn't figure out that I had limited ammo till it was too late.
