Photon Wars by acidave
Trapped in the basement you have to find the GOLDEN COIN to progress.
Use your weapons wisely and watch your HEALTH and ENERGY. Collect green and red blobs to refill.
Aim light at GHOSTS and CATS to plop them.
WASD to move.
Number keys toggle weapons:
<1> FLASHLIGHT - limited field of view, medium energy consumption and power
<2> LASERPOINTER - attracts CATS, strong against GHOSTS, weak against cats
<3> CAMPING LIGHT - 360° light, low energy consumption, small range

The graphics are pretty bad. Most stuff is placeholder graphics and/or untextured. I had to run into a cone to even figure out it was a ghost. The single-color floor and walls that are all the same make the level boring to look at, and the random-seeming placement of the walls doesn't make for a visually interesting level design either. The minimap does look nice, though.
I liked the music. The sounds were unremarkable but functional. The implementation of the theme was...not really bad, but light is hardly an unconventional weapon against ghosts.
In the third level (or fourth), when I collected the coin, nothing happened. Was that the end? Some kind of end screen would have been cool.
But still, nice work!
