DISCLAIMER

This is my first Ludum Dare and I underestimated the time required for creating the game I originally envisioned. But hey, the game is playable - so enjoy!
Also, any feedback would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

HOW TO PLAY

The game plays like a simple RTS.
You start the game with 5 villagers, which each have different stats. Most importantly, the Gathering Skill determines how fast the villager collects resources, and Attack Power determines how fast the villager deal damage to barbarians.

To win the game, you have to collect all of the specified resource amounts in the top left corner.

You lose if all your villagers die, before collecting the specified amount of resources.

Camera control:

- After selecting a villager, you can:

* Right click on a resource to make him gather it.

Nice minecraftlike graphics. Great controls. I cheated: the barbarians attack only one villager, i have send him around the map. The others finished the resource gathering. :)

@psilon Thank you :)
Rather than cheating, I would call it great tactics!

I actually did hit and run : that's the basis of a good RTS isn't it : )
Very good realisation, well done. The selection is very nice.
For next steps we do want to build stuffs !
And maybe select many workers at the same time ?
Scrolling the scene with the mouse on the edge of the screen ?

Pretty nice for a jam! I won with only 2/3 gold, so I guess that's a bug. It was sometimes hard to click on what I wanted, it didn't seem like the game prioritized the closest thing to the camera.

@BMacIntosh Thanks for the feedback :)
So you won only with 2/3 gold and none of the other resources? I can't seem to replicate that bug, if that's the case.

I totally kited the enemies to win. It was like watching a zombie movie because they'd just wander on across the field in a big mob to get one of the two units left.

One issue I did run into was with selection. My units would be in the cart so I clicked I'd only get to select the cart. Lost two units to this.

Overall well done though, I like the Minecraft graphics too.

Wow, this is an awesome game. Impressive what you achieved in 48 hours!

The graphics are simple, but appealing, has a minecrafty feeling to it. The gameplay is not very challenging, but feels very well implemented. I especially like that the different villagers have different stats, well done!

I wished the game wouldn't end so abruptly, I would have loved to see how round wheels look like :P Obviously the game is a bit short, but I would be totally excited to play a longer version of this game. And some sound would be great.
