S-COM: Aftermath by chaosed0
The alien invasion is over, but humanity's problems are just beginning. With the psionic abilities and plasma weapons left behind, the nations are now turning inward and beginning pointless wars. In the midst of this conflict, the S-COM project is one again activated - but this time, to preserve order.
Strike a careful balance between the continents, and develop the Mind-Control bomb before one of them falls into chaos - or the world will go with it...

This game is, of course, based on the story of X-COM. In the latest remake (Enemy Unknown), there's lots of questioning about "what happens after the aliens are gone/what do we do with all this tech/how will it change humanity?" but the game never explores the idea. Here's my take on it, in strategy-game spreadsheet-crunching continent-clicking form.
If you get into the game and have no idea what to do, check out the "Help" button at the top-right.

Agents OP, two-three agents and you are pretty much set for the win :D
I hope you will expand on this idea, i would like to see game telling us about events after X-COM, and you have pretty decent start to make such game.
I kind of love games with this kind of setup and mood, even though I'm usually bad with strategy games.
Missing a little bit of audio, but it isn't te essential here. The overall gameplay is well thought and enough to keep this usually casual gamer have fun thinking a little bit and getting frustrated of not being able to prevent chaos.
Nice entry. :)
