In the twilight of the Opal Kingdom is the Oynx Kingdom, where the Sun never Shines... (View the Screenshots to read the rest!)

=====
Because I did not have time to insert a tutorial, here's a quick run down:

Instructions:
Use A and D to move.
Jump with W.

Click on the colored orbs to activate Ward Staff Essences effects:
Red = Strike Essence
You lose a defense point every time you attack, as shown by the center large number. For each negative defense point, you lose that many more lives when you take a hit

Blue = Shield Essence
Every positive defense point allows you to absorb an attack.

Green = Ward Essence
Ward resets all defense points to 0, including your enemies

Yellow = Bomb Essence
Clears all enemies and bullets on the map. Requires 9 Essences.

Gaining Essences: Essence slowly recover over time. The more you have, the greater amount you gain back. So, be careful not to use them too quickly!

=======

Argh! I underestimated how much time I had! I wanted to do so much more! Cutscenes! Music! Characterization! Plot! I had written so many great jokes!

*ahem* Thank you for visiting my game. I hope you enjoy it, and I would be happy to receive your feedback.

If you beat the 3rd boss, you win the game. But, it's pretty hard XP

A solid attempt. I had trouble knowing what colors does what (and scrolling down to the description while the game is running is not a good idea ;-)), and sometimes the enemies hit you multiple times in one tick. The character model and the walk cycle are great though.

Beautiful execution. a little confusing with all the numbers, but i'm sure it'd become clearer if I played longer. Nice one.
It's very beautiful. There's no audio :(
It is somewhat annoying that the characters move so much slower than the background. It is hard to know when an enemy will hit you. Maybe make the colliders smaller? Also, clicking on the screen might not be the best input method for using the abilities. How about the Numbers on the keyboard? The animation is also quiet nice.

Not a bad submission, although it feels like it was lacking. Maybe a better explanation of what I was supposed to be doing would be enough?

Nice looking game! A bit difficult to know when attacks will hit or not, and what do you do when your all out of attacks?

That was... an interesting game. although i must ask; what's the "Unconventional Weapon"? sorry if this sound stupid

@Terrabalt: The "Unconventional Weapon" that Kala is carrying is the Mystical Talking Ward Staff, Rajnish. It can convert essence in the surroundings into forces of destruction and protection, as shown in the game. Being as old as he is, he's quite serious and sometimes doesn't get jokes. He acts as a foil to Kala's more easy going attitude.

Yes, I had all this planned out but couldn't get to it. :(

You've made a really pretty game. I like what you've done with the theme too!

Interesting, like the style. It took a while to work out exactly what was going on. Would be nicer if the instructions were a little clearer.

Good graphics, but really confusing as to what is what and how to play in general without written instructions.

I only made it (and died) on the first boss. I do wish there was more of a sense of progression b.g changes or music changing or something. I was about to give up then the boss showed up and whooped me. Checkpoints for the weak? I would love to see your other bosses but don't want to replay the first part.

The mechanics are really interesting (having to clear if you attack) and your choices can be interesting as well. At first I thought it was bugged because of dying with 5 lives (but then I read the description more carefully about attack/clear). The clicking input is a bit odd. I suppose it worked though!

Excellent artwork...especially those player animations.

It's cool art, the game itself is hard, although a lot of that is because of things like bullets still flying through the air when you respawn.

A nice infinite runner game. Maybe it can be improved by other features and a music as a background. A solid attempt. Thank you ++

I'm a little bit confused on how the numbers work, but otherwise good job!

Good idea but needs to be more polish in the collisions while attacking

I really like the graphics. I had a bunch of trouble with the controls leaving the window and highlighting the entire webpage. When you get hit in the middle of the screen you often respawn just in time to get hit a second time before you can react.

Nice music theme and graphics but I suggest to reconsider the mouse controls to keyboard keys.

I underestimated my time too, so all my sympathy about your feelings ^^

I really liked the art and animation you put into your game. I also liked the story you framed it in. That was bold of you to choose such an intricate fighting system.

Fun, hitboxes a bit weird on my side. A bit difficult, but I really enjoyed it! Nice job with the art (:

At first it was kinda hard to get grasp on game mechanics, but when you get it, it's quite fun to play. I like art and your innovative approach.
BTW: sometimes hit boxes are a bit buggy.
