Screaming Wizards by Mizipzor

[raw]
made by Mizipzor for LD32 (COMPO)
I have tried to complete a Ludum Dare so many times before. This time, finally, I actually submitted something. I don't care it is a rubbish game, I'm proud anyway.

How to play: Type the word as it appear on the screen to launch an attach on the opponent. Do it fast enough and you win, too slow and you lose.

The theme: It was tricky to come up with a game mechanic that followed the theme. I started out with some sort of duel between wizards where they were screaming at each other, the theme was never fully realized as I focused on completing the game. I ended up with something more like The Typing Of The Dead.

I actually expected them to scream(that would have been fun xD). The game fits well with the theme and I like typing as well so nice job!

Simple typing of the dead type of game, it works, and is your first ludum dare, so it's a very good work! :)

I enjoyed this one. Good work! As a core mechanic, this could be interesting if you extrapolated the concept with additional stuff (more weapons, more mechanics, more dynamic enemies, etc).

Heya, pretty cool quick game. I'd suggest adding the option to mute and also making the words have a difficulty curve... i.e, in the beginning shorter and more well-known words, later on more difficult ones. Graphics are cute, so is the concept, fireballs look great :D
Good luck!

Nice! Had fun with it - seems unfair when it chucks a super-long word at you and it basically does the same thing as a shorter word it could have chosen?

I always like some typing game :) But I'm not sure how can I win? I saw that after a while words stopped appearing, so I got hit and lost.

I think it would be cool if they said some magical formulas, but that's just an idea.

It has been done before but a simple and surprisingly fun concept. Should probably have a difficulty setting for slow typers.

This was fun but hard to read some of the words because of the small text. This would be a good game to practice typing and spelling.

I really liked this. Wish the fonts were slightly more legible.

It was intense! Enjoyed it a lot :) Would use a bigger/clearer font, had trouble to read the words at times. Really nice graphics. Well done!

Fun little thing :)
it sometimes is really hard to read since the font is a bit un-accentuated (A & O look quite the same and some others)

Overal pretty neat.

Nice concept, pretty fun too - though it was quite hard to read some of the words with that font! I type fairly fast and it was a challenge for me, suggest a slower difficulty curve or having difficulty options for typing skill levels :)

needs a restart button on the web version, it takes a minute to refresh! otherwise good job!

It works well, but it's inconsistent. The words would vary in length with no warning and threw me off badly. It needs a difficulty system, but overall nice job for a first ludum dare

Nice job finally submitting something. Fun game if a bit difficult at times with some crazy words. Good entry though and liked the music.
