Your game is very well designed and the graphics is well themed: Rogue-like I suppose. Perhaps the movement of the player is a bit too snappy and the game play took some understanding at first, but I got the hang of it. Nice game!"},{"author_name":"steph88","author_uid":"113244","time":"Aug 30, 2016 @ 7:30am","epoch":1472541900,"text":"Hi, nice game and congratulations ! Simple mechanics that still offered a decent amount of challenge. We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free) \r<br\/>So we can include also your game in the video ;) \r<br\/>p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description."},{"author_name":"suimisu","author_uid":"56145","time":"Aug 30, 2016 @ 3:24pm","epoch":1472570340,"text":"@onyon yeah it's really clunky :D I would have loved to give it more life and more interaction (closing doors, fighting with the monsters about spots for benefits instead of just point fields). \r<br\/>\r<br\/>And the feeling to have a finished game is really great so I think that will motivate me for the future jams:)\r<br\/>\r<br\/>@MyIsaak yeah I think it would really need some introduction level with an easy maze and explain some interactions. The controls are confusing though, maybe I suggest changing the solar ray direction with W-A-S-D while you only move the guy with the arrow keys?"},{"author_name":"sudorossy","author_uid":"7905","time":"Aug 30, 2016 @ 9:15pm","epoch":1472591400,"text":"I really find it really a original, but i think with a catchy music could be more interesting! The controls feel strange for a bit, but once you get the hang of it, it is a really challenging and addicting game.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Adding some variety I see this game being amazing on android as a time killer, if the controls are well mapped to tactile controls somehow :)\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Keep the good work!"},{"author_name":"bushmango","author_uid":"5852","time":"Aug 31, 2016 @ 11:25pm","epoch":1472685600,"text":"Interesting idea that I'd like to see expanded. In particular, the controls were a bit tricky, I don't really know how I can accumulate solar power (though I've never really ran out of it, either) and I couldn't quite understand what specific blocks do, so I just ended up trying to mow through the enemies until I died. Would be nice if I could actually defeat them for good. ^^'\r<br\/>\r<br\/>Still, seems like a concept worth expanding upon."},{"author_name":"suimisu","author_uid":"56145","time":"Sep 1, 2016 @ 3:53pm","epoch":1472744880,"text":"@TerraCottaFrog yeah I didn't found a good way in time to move the ray and player simultanously and giving the player some leeway when trying to change the ray direction. Thanks for the feedback!\r<br\/>\r<br\/>@Alphish Thanks for the long feedback:) the idea behind it was that you'll always accumulate solar energy by default but slowly. Dependant on the amount of your energy the ray will last longer\/shorter, so you have to decide if you can go really deep into the maze with the sunray or if you have to clean up in the front first. But you're right, it probably charged too quick. And there were only 2 fields: Bonus points (1000) and sunblocker-fields so you couldn't spawn camp with your ray.\r<br\/>\r<br\/>The problem is that I couldn't implement elements in time which would give the player reasons to charge up to max (like destroying the summoning circle of monsters) or go the short route for targets which give extra solar power, so the player has to think more about when and where to shoot."},{"author_name":"Diptoman","author_uid":"25325","time":"Sep 3, 2016 @ 9:55pm","epoch":1472939400,"text":"This was very cool for a first entry! The idea was nice, but it could have had a better implementation - particularly on the visual side (not the graphics, but visual feedback - like when it hits something, when it rotates, indication of direction etc.). The length and timing of the solar ray confused me a bit too. But good work nevertheless!"}],"images":["ld36\/56145-fab4748b949bf778212347906051e9a5.jpg"],"links":[{"url":"https:\/\/suimisu.itch.io\/solar","text":"Windows (itch.io)"},{"url":"https:\/\/suimisu.itch.io\/solar","text":"OS\/X (itch.io)"}],"metadata":{"g_key":"1126","g_author":"56145","g_event":"LD36","g_eventkey":"35","g_subevent":"JAM","g_urlkey":"1096","g_title":"Solar","g_status":"UCHK1","g_place":"99999","g_commentcount":"14","g_site2_node_id":"0","g_hide":"N","g_has_icon":"Y","g_rqueue":"0","g_random":"0"},"nds":[],"node":null,"orig_images":["http:\/\/ludumdare.com\/compo\/wp-content\/compo2\/\/570486\/56145-shot0-1472492279.png-eq-900-500.jpg"],"text":"Controls:\r\n\r\n SPACE - Shoot your solar ray [Distance travelled dependant on charge time]\r\n LEFT \/ RIGHT ARROW : Turn solar ray left \/ right\r\n UP \/ DOWN ARROW: Move solar stone position up \/ down\r\n ESC: Quit the game\r\n\r\nThe ancient aztecs discovered a way to charge up a solar stone with sunlight so they can defend their world from the demons and creatures coming from deep under their pyramids.
