Bully Simulator by Pantelis Petsopoulos

[raw]
made by Pantelis Petsopoulos for LD32 (COMPO)
Controls:
Q W E R or 1 2 3 4 to choose your curse. The layout is like so:
1 2
3 4

Description:
Choose your curses in order to defeat those pesky nerds!

Some curses are more effective against certain types of nerds. Be careful though, every time you curse you get recoil! Too many out of place curses and you're out.

My take on the theme is about the most common unconventional weapon in the world: Words. Most of us were bullied when we were younger, now you can bully too! *cough* Bullying is bad, kids!

A very unique game with a nice attitude and vibe. The music is quirky and the background animation fits perfectly. As for the bully and nerd art; They look excellent.
The controls are easy. The concept is accessible.

My only critisism would be that there is no way to tell how potent an insult will be. Possibly having a number beside each curse? (Though, that wouldn't really work)
Something along those line ;)

Other than that, a great upload! :D

Fits the theme well and is quite different to most of what I have seen. I love the graphics and the music is good. It's weird how the bullying theme made me uncomfortable when I'll happily blow people up in other games... Excellent entry!

Not a pleasant thing being in the shoes of a bully.
Captures the theme nicely indeed!

Really cool game, I thought it was pretty cool to play as a bully. The insults get pretty intense....

Interesting idea. Could have used a little more variety of insults, or a more clear way to determine which ones we were using.

There's a lot of variety but you have to unlock the words by playing the game :D

I don't really like bullying, even in a video game.... :'( The graphics are nice, though, and the audio too.

Two problems, firstly the insult choices arent numbered. I'm guessing the layout is:

1 2
3 4

but I have no way of knowing. Maybe if you saw him shout it, big old speech bubble, and maybe also something to show how effective it is without having to watch both numbers.

Had no time to implement a speech bubble :(

It was really hard to understand what was going on. You should try adding some visual feedback for when you do difrent things.

Truth be told, I did not find this particularly fun to play. However, I had to score it high on everything else. It is a really great entry for this particular theme. Nice work.

The game scores highly for me on everything but fun. It's unique, it's original, but what is the gameplay? Trial and error? It didn't seem like different insults meant much, especially when they were randomised and sometimes you'd get duplicates or triplicates. Why? I prefer some strategy to the game rather than just randomly pressing buttons.
I'd have preferred the controls to be clickable rather than numbered 1 2 3 4 (Especially when not clearly labeled in the game).
Nice graphics, nice music.

Yea thats the point. The whole game is quite pointless, much like bullying. I can see how this would make it antifun, but I hope it succeeds in getting the message through. Thanks for the critique.
