Zombie dinner by goerp
It's a game about food and health (ahem), but it's fun too! It's easy to win once you know how it works (and with a little luck) and even easier to lose.
Skip the intro speech with mouse click.
HINT: when you play the 'dessert level' Fruit is the only healthy option at the start.
You may have to click the application to give it focus.
---GOAL---
Can you survive zombie dinner?
Defeat the hordes of zombies that disturb your ladies' diner.
HOW? By throwing the right food at them! But you only have a limited amount of all the food.
---CONTROLS---
Use and to choose a food you think will harm a zombie.
THE SELECTED FOOD IS HIGHLIGHTED and the name and portions left are shown below (portions contains a bug and sometimes is not shown).
: throw food
Remember: if it's good for you, it's bound to be bad for zombies (and vice versa)!
But knowledge about what food is good for you is changing all the time!
--TOOLS and acknowledgements--
I made it all. Yes, ALL of it: the clunky inappropriate music, the crude animations, the crappy code, the bugs!
I used Flash for graphics and Flashdevelop for coding.
A Commodore 64 with Sid Wizard and a program of my own for music.
A guitar for some more music and a Zoom G3X for effects and drum machine.
Reaper to mix it all (and in darkness bind them).
*** HINTS ****
NO PRELOADER, PLEASE BE PATIENT!
IF IT DOESN'T RESPOND TO KEYBOARD: CLICK THE APPLICATION FIRST!
SORRY: NO REPLAY FUNCTION (out of time!).

You can't throw, until the thrown food has hot or gone out of bounds
You only have limited amounts of every food stuff (for lettuce I think you have 5 portions). After you have thrown 5, you have to switch to a different food.
The game tries to make changes so there is always enough healthy food, but it doesn't always work.
I'll put it in my list to mention in the Podcast :)
I don't know why, when i've read the text you wrote up there, my brain skiped the "controls" section, so at the first try I had no idea what to do and was wondering why clicking on food was ineffective ... hopefully, I managed to find out and could appreciate this game experience !
Great idea!
The game will try to keep the amount of damage you can do enough to kill all zombies, but if you throw everything without considering the effect you will probably run out of food.
And butter is considered bad for you, so it is initially good for zombies.
Maybe that's what happened?
The gameplay was simple and became a cakewalk (rimshot) once I'd played for a couple of minutes. A fun, short game.
