The ZIGGURARK by glisk

[raw]
made by glisk for LD36 (JAM)
The Explorer wanders in the jungle, when he finds the ZIGGURARK, a weird mix between a Ziggurat and an Ark.

Looking for treasures, he enters the building just to face the mighty Tezcacoatlus, the Assembler God, an ancient supernatural entity which uses a godly ancient tool, ("The Tool"), to recombine DNA and create animal hybrids. Actually, he created the Ark in order to contain those hybrids forever.

The ZIGGURARK is an action/roguelike game inspired by lots of great games (mostly: The Binding of Isaac!). Move with the arrow keys, attack with W,A,S,D and make your way through Tezcacoatlus' dungeon, recombining animals with The Tool so to survive through the perils of the ZIGGURARK!

Hi, nice game and congratulations ! Simple mechanics that still offered a decent amount of challenge. We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

Cutscene was very cool. Game was challenging. Controls seemed very smooth and easy to use. I love the different characters that you are given with different attributes, makes dying not seem so bad. I feel that the AI was sometimes hard to hit though. Either way, great submission.

Cool concept. I liked the intro and the commentary by the god. I had a hard time with the control-scheme, using WASD and the arrow keys at the same time took some getting used to. But after a while that worked, too.
Nice pixel-art & animations, too!
