Guardian Against Shadows by Languard

[raw]
made by Languard for LD32 (COMPO)
You are a brave Maltese, holding back the shadows from bothering your humans. Careful about barking to much though, or you might annoy the very people you are trying to protect!

Created in memory of Andy, my parent's Maltese that died suddenly Friday morning.

Edit: I've noticed that sometimes you have to expand the web version to full screen for the input to work correctly. Have no idea how to begin tracking that down with the Unity WebGL stuff.

Simple, but adorable. Not sure why you opted out of humor, cause I would have given you a lot of points for that.

It doesn't seem like the webGL inputs are working, might want to look into it

Sorry about Andy. I didn't expect to hear voice when you fail.
Good work.

This was really endearing and cute to play, the voice that comes in when you bark too much made me laugh. I found myself getting quickly overwhelmed by the shadows though.

Eh? No way to reply to a comment?
@SuperPokeunicorn: Opting out of humor would be a derp on my part. I was debating on whether or not to opt out on humor and mood, and forgot to recheck the boxes.

Nice game, I would have liked to have had diagonal movement but otherwise it was a nice game.

That one sound effect at the end got you a higher score from me for humour than many games trying to come across as funny.

Sorry about your loss

A good start. 'Monster' models could have been better i.e. not boxes. Like the lighting though.

391 highscore. Is that good or bad ;)?

I liked it, would make the dog a bit faster, as currently you get overwhelmed too fast. Solid entry, good luck!

Funny game! Seems a bit unbalanced though, I never had problems keeping the barking noises down but just kept getting swarmed. Still, nice game!

Cute game, more difference between the "attack bark" and the "collision bark", could improve the gameplay a bit.

I like the concept! But I couldn't seem to control it, maybe I will try a little more. By the way you said that my game was too fast and thus, unplayable. I slowed it down.

Nice. Missed more scary shadows rather than just cubes:-)

Well, that’s a touching story about Andy. Nice game, with a pleasant mood. I’d have liked to be able to move along diagonals, since the enemies can :)

nice little game, touching story on description, sorry about your loss. funny sounds and nice mood, I would prefer diagonals move and there is a little bug when you bark a shadow and it still has collision. great job ;)

Funny game! But it's quite annoying that the shadows I just killed act like walls until they completely fade away.
