Candle Dungeons by Donni11

Note : The image above was a screenshot taken when I was developing the game in the last few hours. The game and screenshot may have minor differences.

Candle Dungeons is a game where you explore treasure Dungeons with your trusty candle. You have 15 seconds with each wick, collect Yellow Coal cubes to extend you light time. How much time of light you have left is displayed next to the player. Each coal provides 15 more seconds of light. Use the arrow keys to move , Space to jump, and ENTER key to open doors. Doors could only be used once. Also this game is in need of a post combo update which I will do tomorrow. Right now this game has only one level, and no Menu screen, no enemies. But don't worry, I'll include those in the update tomorrow. So drop by again tomorrow to see whats new.

If you have a idea for improvement ( besides for what is in the update ) or found a bug, please let me know in the comments. Thank you !

Your core mechanic has a lot of promise. I'll have to come back for the post-compo update.

I seem to be sticking to the sides of things when I jump into them. Is this intended?

M.E. Sticks too and first level is a bit too hard for my taste. Character design is good.

Hello everyone, Thanks for the feedback. No the sticking isn't intended. I'll have it fixed with the post-compo update.

I've decided to cancel the update. I'm just not in the mood to work on this game anymore. And besides, its a jam. Your creating a rushed game, its not going to be perfect or even complete.

Not a bad idea for a game. It's too short to really see where it might lead to, but at least the concept is solid. :)

The music was really awesome, in my opinion - probably some of the best music I've seen in a game so far.

The main criticism I think I have is in the graphics - they are mostly just fine but I think the doors don't exactly match the tiles, and the pirate character certainly doesn't match the rest of the graphics - it also appears the pirate character is somewhat blurred, which degrades the overall appearance of the game.

I'm kind of sad that you canceled the post-compo update, but I understand. I always say I'm going to do extra stuff with my Ludum Dare games, and then I never do. :P
