I wish you had made something like a parallax scrolling background, like some stars, to create the illusion that the asteroid is heading towards Earth, it would maybe add a feeling of urgency to the whole scene. Also, perhaps the asteroid should move left and right as well, because as it is you may just lock your mouse onto it and mash space while only paying attention to evading the projectiles. The progression of the difficulty\/interest curve was especially good, as the asteroid doesn't begin to attack the player until you know the player can fight back.
