soundquake by anokta

[raw]
made by anokta for LD32 (COMPO)
soundquake is a noise maker. Record and place your loudy weapons to offend your victim into the hole! Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance - got too lazy - to design more levels yet, so it ended up to be a rather playtoy than a game.

Controls:
- Click & hold left mouse button to record a weapon by 'shouting', and release the button to place it wherever on the screen.
- Right mouse click any of your weapons to remove them.

---
You will need a microphone and possibly speakers/headphones to play.
---

Hope you enjoy!

Cheers

The idea of using sound as a tool is amazing!

Really cool sound toy, love the art style, trying to be it's own thing, very different from a lot of the more conventional stuff people do.

That was incredibly fun! I enjoyed screaming into my mic to get the ball to drop :). It was a really innovative idea and great use of theme. Well done!

Pretty amazing once I realized that you had to speak in order to be able to do anything - I only wish that the 'weapons' you spawned were more visible.

Overall interesting concept, would like to see it grow into a full-fledged combat system!

really creative! liked the idea a lot. First time I clicked around like crazy and wondered why it did not work, then I actually read the description and recorded long iiaaaaahhhyyy sounds and got until level 5. then I quit as i think there is nothing waiting in level 100 but overall a refreshing entry!

Funny entry, but too repetitive x) But I really like it and I was able to make a good music with my voice and your voice box :D So, definitely a good game!

Holy shit I'm sorry but this game is amazing. I was just screaming into my microphone and when I let the mouse button go I got a surprise. Well done! Very innovative!

Even if there isn't too much to do, this is still pretty fun to play around with. It's cool to see the ways different types of sounds try to move around. I'd really like to see how this would have developed if you had more time to work on it~

I love this haha, it's a really cool concept, I'd love to turn it into a full fledged system, with different frequencies having different abilities. I might see if I can pick apart the code myself if you don't mind!

thanks all for the lovely feedback! :) glad to see people enjoying this yet ridiculous concept. there will hopefully be more to come soon enough!

@Bandersnatch sure thing, there isn't much on the audio analysis part in the code for now, but love to see what you come up with! and please excuse me if the code is way too messy to read. :)

One of the most creative uses of theme I've seen - interested to see where you could take this with more time.

The concept is really cool. You need to work to more levels, or maybe other kind of sounds, who make different actions.
Can't wait to play and evolved version of this !

Great game idea to use the player's voice as a weapon! It was fun to make noises into my microphone and see the ball move and my "weapon" animated!
The graphics style was simple but effective. A bit more variety to the levels or some other obstacles and it would have been even more fun!
Most innovative idea I've played for this LD!

This game definitely needs levels and more gameplay options. Core idea is amazing and should be iterated upon, it's worth a try.

Really awesome idea. Would love to see more levels and content, but it's nice to overlay several lines and make tunes while pushing the ball around.
