Traxxion by alangamebot

made by alangamebot for LD32 (COMPO)
Traxxion is an old school arcade vector time shooter. Your only weapon is a tractor beam which you can use to capture enemy projectiles and shoot back at enemies.
Controls
WASD to move
Move the mouse to move the targeting cursor
Left click to grab a projectile with your tractor beam
Left click (or right click) again to shoot the projectile at the target position

A note about the controls. I added the left click to shoot back captured projectiles based on feedback from my son who was having trouble right clicking and left clicking. I actually find the right clicking a bit easier because sometimes you can left click to shoot back a projectile and accidentally capture a new one that you didn't intend.

Made with Gamemaker studio, Garage Band and Paint.net

Enjoy!

Hi, didn't like the graphics too much (thankfully I'm not epileptic :p), but I enjoyed the idea rather much! However, with no love for Azerty keyboards, it was hard for me to play :(. Cheers!

I liked the Neon Graphics! The idea was innovative too, overall a cool gameplay experience.

Cool idea. Has a difficult learning curve that may put off some players. You might consider making the start of the game easier or adding an easy and hard mode.

Pretty fun game! Once I had the controls figured out, I could finally play it correctly. The graphics and music are very good too.

Good work!

Very cool, and nice difficulty. I really like the concept, and it's fun to play.

Never ever make a menu that flashy ever again. I thought it was fine in the game, but reading the instructions was hard. Unless you were going for that, in which case good job.

Sorry about the extreme flashiness. Maybe I should have included an epilepsy warning. Thanks for all the great comments!

Nicely done, but the graphics are a bit 'too much'. Keep it up!

Very cool. Looks nice and it's really hard. I like the firing mechanism. Good music too!

Now this is addicting!
Clever game with great retro feel. My only problem is, it's far too easy to hit yourself. Maybe grabbed stuff should be thrown away from your ship, without direction control?

Reminds me of old school arcade games like Xevious, hard to play, but in a good, challenging way. Awesome job

Cool game! The graphics were very flashy, the fonts not too nice, but the game was good! Extremely hard though; with single-touch death it's difficult to stay around for long. Awesome music and sound effects. :)
