TeleMage by ProjectX593
Meet Telemage, that one guy at wizard school who always has to be the best. He learned the most difficult spell there is - teleporting! Unfortunately he forgot to learn literally ALL the rest of the spells... which might have been kinda useful when he shouted 'SCREW IT' and sprinted into the nearest monster filled dungeon.

However, I found it frustrating that I was able to effectively get myself trapped within the corner areas once I was teleported inside of them after disposing of the nearby enemies.
Great game!
get an enemy to charge a hit on you only to swap with his ally,
to have a mage cast a fieball at you only to swap yourself with him so he hits himself (in the face) with his own firball. Brilliant idea.
Level design was a little simplisic. Diddn't realise doors were doorways at first.
Graphics were pretty simple.
Not a lot of audio (no music).
Dorway positioning was a little strange led to a tackic of just standing opposite side of the wall and letting them get hit by the flame.
Would enjoy a dungeon crawler wiht this mechanic :)
Most fun I've had so far :)
The sound effects were a bit loud, but that's a pretty minor critique. I would say this just needs a bit more variety in the level and traps, but overall a solid A
really strong entry, the art style fit very well the game as well as the sound. the gameplay is very entertaining and innovative. really like it :)
Btw, found your game on a list with mine, proud to be on that list even if I don't really understand what it says. https://www.indiemag.fr/forum/lactu-inde-reagissez/t4389-ludum-dare-32-unconventionnal-weapon-partagez-vos-jeux
The aesthetic and gameplay is good and like already mentioned an (ambient) background song would've pushed the mood even further. Got to 40 kills on my best try, but I guess I played way too aggressively overall.
The level design of the first level is brilliant. (Only got to the second level once and died shortly after, so I can't say much about that one yet.) The flamethrowers are both useful as a weapon against enemies and at the same time lock you in the corners at unfortunate moments. The corners themselves play very well with the teleportation mechanic; you can use them to fight an enemy without others bothering you, you can use them to isolate enemies, and the way enemies get stuck there is extremely helpful for position management. Enemy designs likewise play well with the teleportation mechanic; their attacks are both dangerous and abusable.
Graphics were nice and clear but not spectacular. Sound was functional and gave good feedback, but sfxr beeps never sound nice. Music would've been a great addition.
Minor things that bothered me: After you die, you don't get to see your score. It really would be great if after every game I could see whether I beat my previous score or not. Also, death is very sudden; there's no death animation or sound, it just cuts to a black screen all of a sudden. Slowly showing your death would cause it to have more impact and leaves the player a moment to go 'nooooooooooo', while also letting you figure out what exactly killed you.
But those are minor nitpicks. This game is amazing and I'll definitely have to play it some more.
Will you be making an updated version of this?
@VDZ - At the moment I don't have plans to continue with this game. I've got a large project I'm working on in my spare time and I really want to stay focused on that. I might change my mind though, you never know!
