FireStarter by biscuitWizard

[raw]
made by biscuitWizard for LD32 (JAM)
FireStarter is a goblin/pickle/burning simulator.

Watch your goblins terrorize a small town and burn everything in sight.

The white chess pieces are the firefighters moving to put out your fires.

Author's Note:
Due to technical difficulties, the game aspects of the game didn't all quite make it in, nor did it really get a QA portion. However, it's still fun to watch the /burning/.

Controls:
Hold Middle Mouse Button to pan the camera
Press left click to place a pickle and attract your goblin's attention
Click a goblin name tag to focus on them.

Tools:
Unity3D, FMOD 1.05.11, Inkscape, Pyxel

Placing pickles to attract goblins is weird... in a good way :-) Destroying stuff is always a good thing. I'm curious what a more complete version of this would look like. The music is good.

What were the goblins intended to do originally? Would they start more fires or do something special with those which are already started?

The goblins now are mostly finished. They wander around and set fires while laughing maniacally.

There were supposed to be city watchmen to kill the goblins, loot, a market, and some other mechanics and UI elements that just didn't make it in.

The pickles would also be used to navigate the goblins away from the guard or direct them to burn other areas.

Pretty fun just to watch, although after a few mins it seemed like I placed maybe 3 pickles somehow and the goblins stopped moving completely.
