Don't Choke! by Big Cow

[raw]
made by Big Cow for LD32 (JAM)
Help Stanley get back at the school bully by defeating him in a rap battle!

This is the first game I've ever released. I recently quit my job to work full time making my own point-and-click adventure game, and saw the Ludum Dare as an opportunity to get some practice and feedback.

Dialogue can be skipped through by clicking anywhere on the screen.

Made using Adventure Creator and Unity.

That's great. Love the crowd. It goes a little too fast at first. Maybe should ease into it.

Wonderful! My only complaint is that there is basically no sound except for the epic rap music from the ref.

P. S. - Stanley's grandma is da BOMB.

This game is actually really good! I had a lot of fun figuring out how to rhyme last-minute, and I actually won on my first try playing. This should be a full length game, man! Nice job!!

Download doesnt work. It says there should be a LD32_PCbuild_Data folder next to it.

Love the grandma, love the concept. The tutorial was a bit fast and I had to learn at the battle, but it was a lot of fun.

Yeah! Amazing concept and take on the theme. There should be more games like this.

Great entry! I was about to comment on the lact of sound, but the fact that there's humorous beat boxing at the main meat of the game lended more importance to it, and it set the tone for the battle. My only request is to add keyboard support and have the highlight start in the middle of the 3 options. or allow us to just hit 1, 2, or 3 for an option. The fact that the cursor hides itself makes me lose track of it, and i have to spend a good .5-1 second figuring out where it is so i can move it to the right choice.

Overall, 5 stars across the board.

This game was really fun! I would have liked to be able to see my mouse on the screen before it was time to choose my rhyme. It threw off my timing on a few and made me lose. But I really liked this game!

It was a bit of a panic to find the cursor and get it to the right word on time each round.

Cool idea to use timed dialogue trees as the core gameplay. Simple, but effective. The rap sound effects were amusing and the character graphics looked good. Congrats on your first game!
