FIRED by repstyle

[raw]
made by repstyle for LD32 (COMPO)
Game name : FIRED.
Goal : Don't be FIRED.
Controls : Mouse to play and escape to quit.

This game is my first game made on my own in a Ludum Dare event.
I'm pretty happy with the result regarding my programming skills because i am really programming full-time since 6 months. I would say that the game is 80% near what i wanted to do :).

I know that i wasn't ready for the compo level but i don't care, it was a nice challenge and next time i'll do better :)

Feel free to comment the game ;)

Missing : Sound and animation. Don't have the time to do it...

And i'm sorry but for now i don't know how to program a restart of a level.
So if you want to play several times, you will have to quit and launch again the game. My apologies.

FAC :

**The game don't work on my computer**
I have also created a setup archive to install the game that you can use but as i am working on W7, i don't know if W8 users can play it.

Hey dude, can't score this one unfortunately, opening the executable on my Windows 8 machine does nothing.

@qapn : Damn, i'm working on Windows 7 with XNA. I will search for a way to deploy for Windows 8 xith XNA.

Really simple game, maybe a bit too simple :) ? Nice progress on programming but it still feels quite "static" :)

@Tavrox ; Yes, in fact for now i never programmed any animated stuff so i don't know how to do it. But it wasn"t an issue because my game idea for this LD didn't need that. My idea is not an action game, so it's like telling me that a visual novel is too much static :D.

Game is very simple yet fun. It does not seem to have an ending tho, I managed to get 99% success rate and it ended on a dark screen, I had like 17 seconds left and had to wait to be fired. Good and fun entry

I played it, it was okay.
An ending would have been nice but cool idea nonetheless.

@Kassimkot :
I have changed the build package, i hope it will work now.
Build is made on Windos 7, maybe to build on Windows 8 i need the same OS.

@Marcellus : Yes, there is only an ending when you lose becasue i didn't have the time to finish it properly. I am still new to programming so i tried to do my best as fast as i could.

@KBF123 : Yes, i didn't had the time to do it.

Don't be so down on yourself - it was a perfectly acceptable entry!
Visually it was quite nice and the concept was solid - I found the gameplay a little too easy but for LD it's better if they are easier so everyone can see it from start to finish.

*SPOILERS* I am assuming there is no way to "win" the game, correct? I got a score of 100 but I still got fired - I assumed this was intentional.

This is a pretty simple game, but it gets repetitive after a while. I think the story was more exciting than the gameplay. If you're going to do a Post-LD version, I would definately add in more objects and victims to spice up the gameplay. Either way, good work! :D

I was expecting some kind of a puzzle game, so I prepared very carefully and had read the prolog two times before entering the test. Then I score 94 out of 100.

Great job for your first time! Gameplay feels lacking since there is no difficulty ramp, but keep on it ;)

Neat idea for a pattern matching game, though it is still very rough.
