BoozeHound by Havacore

[raw]
made by Havacore for LD32 (COMPO)
My second LudumDare, and again just my second time using Unity to finish something. You play as a guy who uses his drunkenness to fight pirates. Drinking whisky gives you the ability to fight, and drinking rum lets you breath fire (that stuff burns man!).

Controls:
Space to Jump and start the game
WASD to move
Right shift or left click to do your booze action

Tools I used:

Engine - Unity5
Graphics - Pyxel
SoundFX - sfxr
Music - http://www.abundant-music.com/
LevelEditor - Tiled with Tiled2Unity

It's starting to look like alcohol was a popular choice for unconventional weapon. I couldn't be happier that this is the case.

This game is simple and sweet. It's too bad you didn't get more use out of the different alcohol types, but I really like that you had a proper puzzle in there. Mostly it looks like you just needed more time to add more content.

Cheers!

Aw man, that win screen kind of bummed me out. Was hoping to get a glimpse of the pirate downing that giant jug of booze. Anyway, the game is really fun! I like the different mechanics of the two weapons-- it keeps things interesting. The puzzles weren't very hard but you did a nice job clueing the player into how to solve them. Graphics are short and to the point-- love the blood splatters. Very fitting music too!

I agree this is a proper puzzle and it fits the theme pretty well. I don't drink alcohol but those descriptions are really funny .

It started with a giggle, and then it was a fun game as well! The controls felt a little clunky in places, and the BoozeHound felt a bit floaty, but it all worked.

I liked the "bleeding" ropes :) I think the fireballs should do more damage than the punches; although, maybe me getting the fireball coincided with tougher enemies with more health--dunno.

Fun game - I liked the burning rope puzzle - good job on it, as a unity newcomer, you did well.

Nice entry, great overall aesthetic, pirates, booze, pixel art, and your audio go well together. Good amount of polish as well. Would have liked some more variety, but great job for 48 hours.

Great game, thought the gameplay was simple and sweet. Also, loved the variation of weapons, and not to mention, the highly fitting music! Graphics were great, quite the pixel art! Overall, I would say this was a solid game with an addictive and fun gameplay. Great job, and good luck in the competition!

It's a nice game overall! It's pretty simple and the concept isn't very original, but I had fun playing it and that the most important!
Nice job! :D

With the way the animations looked I liked to picture pirates running around on their tiptoes. Very fun game.

First thought (as I read the first couple words) was Drunken Master then it really was pirates and then raptors. Loved it!

Would have liked a button or ESC menu to exit the game.

That was a HUGE bottle of liqueur at the end :-)

Great job!

Crates, ladders, punching, pirates, fire balls and a decent sea shanty this game has it all. The end was abrupt but its certainly an ending none the less. I enjoyed the game. Its just the right level of difficulty and it was fun to play through.

Cool game, controls were OK, music got a little repetitive, I liked the crates mechanic. It lacked a bit of "Arr" though ;)

Nice game for your 2nd try, I did get stuck with the crates not being tall enough to get to the rest of the ship. Extra matches and rum for bigger fireballs, yarrr!
