This is my first Ludum Dare submission, it was made using SDL2 with c++ from scratch, i used Pickle pixel editor for graphics and sfxr for audio.

I really like the enemy pathfinding. They were really hard to juke sometimes, especially when they ganged up on you. Super impressive from scratch. I think level checkpoints would have been nice, but still, very solid game.

I like the concept, but I never felt like I know where I should step to not get hit by an enemy. Good job though!

I remember the first game I did for the ludum was also from scratch. I spent the entire week-end coding. Now that I am using game maker, things are easier and I can focus more on game design. But you do not have the challenge of the "from scratch". The graphism are simple but everything goes well together. The collisions with the wall are a bit too close (I can enter into the wall). For the commands, I do not have a qwerty keyboard so maybe arrows are a better idea for the moving part. You should add a menu screen, just so we do not have to launch the game again (and it would be nice ti begin the level again and not the entire game). Is there an end once you have the gun ?

Level 4 is unbeatable, right? If so you could add a timer to add a "how long can you survive" kind of vibe, since now the level feels pointless

I usually find being locked into the orthogonal directions frustrating, particularly when you have to dodge, but I actually really enjoyed this. The enemies were unpredictable without seeming unfair. Might want to fix the bullet firing rate though, I created a solid line of them.

Great gameplay on a classic robot game. Good work. It gets super hard when you get to the levels with the bot spawners. No matter how fast I shoot I can't keep up.
