BodySlam!: Oil Wrestling Simulator by ss64games

[raw]
made by ss64games for LD32 (JAM)
Bodyslam! is an oil wrestling simulator. Your unconventional weapon: your ever greasy body.

If you are big enough to body slam an opponent from above you will squash them like a fly. Squash them small enough and they are eliminated. Grab oil to move faster/slipperier. Eat pizzas to grow bigger.

Run around with the arrow keys or a game pad. SLAM your opponents with space (hold to keep slamming).

BodySlam! supports 1-4 players.

[CONTROLS]
Arrow keys / Game pad stick: Move
Space / A gamepad button*: SLAM or start match in menu
R: Restart match
Esc: Exit to menu or exit game

*This should be "A" on a XBOX 360 controller. You can configure this in the player settings if you find your gamepad is not working with the game.

I really liked this game. But you cold set some different shape (not an square), or maybve an texture to you know ehrre is the front. Kinda confusing at the beggining to understand what are you doing with the moves.

It's pretty good, although I fund the controls could be more responsive.

Nice!!!! I only wish i had an Xbox 360 controller(and some friends :P), because my "thrushmaster" sucks. Also some Graphics and a few animations whould make this 50% better.

Nice and clever! The solo game was fun, but it sure seems like it would be fun with more players. Tight controls!

hahahaha!

So great!

Gameplay controls are a bit awkward to control (on keyboard), but it was still super fun. Loved the size of the guy changing to represent health, but often the size difference meant it was hard to see my character.

Sounds really emphasized the silliness of the game, and made me laugh every time :).

Also, I want a pre-match oil lathering up mini-game! :D

Great job! i had a game or two be unfinishable, with both bodies too big to fit on the screen, but overall its hard to care because im having fun.

The music and the simple grafics, made the game a lot of fun.

Cute game!

Can you actually win or lose? The first time I played, I got so big I covered the whole ring and the CPU got stuck in the air near one of the corners where I couldn't slam it. The second game, I intentionally let the CPU player slam me into oblivion, but the game never kicked me out. After a while I felt a little undirected.

I thought the slamming felt a little slow. It seemed like the titular action should be a big, decisive, splashy affair, but it was a little floaty. If it was a matter of giving the other player a chance to dodge, maybe the block could fly off screen but leave its shadow as an indicator before slamming down at high speed.

The movement felt pretty good. I liked the powerups for size and speed. The bouncing crowd sprites were a nice touch. The sound effects were cool. All that slamming could use a little screen shake. =D

Fun concept and liked how crazy big you could get in this. The music also worked really well but I did have issues where I got so big I started to become see through when too close to the camera.
