TRANSMATTER WHIRLMPOLE VACUUMBUSTER by CogentInvalid

NOTE: If you have Love2D (www.love2d.org), you can run the game on Mac or Linux with the source file.

You are an explorer. With the aid of your handy TRANSMATTER WHIRLMPOLE VACUUMBUSTER, you explore new dimensions in search of hidden treasure to uncover and distant civilizations to conquer. But just after travelling through the last whirlmpole (which is kinda like a whirlpool, kinda like a wormhole, kinda like neither), you find yourself on a small patch of land in the middle of a sea of lava, accosted by numerous hellish beasts! Worse, your vacuumbuster is malfunctioning. You find yourself unable to create anything but a strong SUCKING or PUSHING force with the device. So, lacking anything else to use as a weapon, you must use your eponymous vacuumbuster to suck and/or push your enemies off the edge of the island.

Controls:
Enter to start game
Arrow keys to move
Hold Z to suck
Hold/release X to push
P to pause/unpause
M to mute/unmute

The game is really fun and fast paced. The music is awesome and it makes the game feel great.

P.S. I'm awful at the game, i cant get past 30 points.

Great job! Simple controls, yet difficult to master. Nice work on the audio. Love the mechanics.

Simple and fun. The mechanics are very easy to learn and the difficulty is pretty well defined. Really makes you want to play more times.

Took me many tries to get a score of 63. It is a fun concept.

I quote enjoyed this game, though I will admit, I'm terribly good at the game. It vaguely reminds me of Shatter, which I also like. I got a high score of 92.

My biggest difficulty was the enemies off-screen. I'm not sure if this a real issue, as it is pretty close to the view of geometry wars, and a lot of other similar games, but I think I would have had an easier time I could see all the enemies as once. Also, I would like to see a few more enemy types (as I like the game), but well, you did it in 48 hours, so it's understandable.

Other than that, the controls are great, the music is good, and I had a lot of fun.

That was pretty fun! I got a score of 166. Gameplay is solid, however, I didn't really find a good reason to pull, I only kept pushing off. Still, nice and fast paced. Well done!

Awesome concept! Really fun, my high score was 119. I like how using the pull near the edges is more effective at killing enemies but riskier. Nice work!

I got like 120 points without realizing that I could push guys off the edge :P Are the points just the number of seconds you survive? Might be nice to get points for killing things too? I also didn't really see a good reason to suck. In fact, I had the most luck just running in a big circle, doing a little push every time I lost my lead on the massive swarms of red guys.

Good music. Neat little game overall! Interesting that I can suck the projectiles over to me, although I can't blow them away.

Nice take on a weapon that is also incredibly dangerous for the player!

Pretty fun game! I was having flashbacks of knocking the bad guys off in Lethal Lava Land from Mario 64! Gameplay and controls are solid and feel great. Interesting concept too. I like you have different options for knocking enemies off the edge. Fun stuff.
