Kill'Nex by Pawige

[raw]
made by Pawige for LD32 (COMPO)
You are tasked with inventing a new, excruciatingly painful and utterly ludicrous weapon for continuing our war against the Zotraxians. Your selection of parts is limited, but high command has faith in your ability to innovate, recruit!

Right click and drag to rotate your view around the scene.
Click and drag from the green cones on the transparent object to the red cones on the ground or objects in the scene.
Up and down arrows switch through objects that can be placed.
Left and right arrows rotate the most recently placed item.

(Switched from WebGL to Unity Web Player, as the WebGL build was 40mb but the Web Player build is 600kb. WebGL definitely still needs more work!)

Pretty cool overall, but it (perhaps it is just me) took a while to load and was extremely laggy. I like the concept though.

Wow, some impressive tech going on here. Well done with the construction system in such limited time. Took a minute to get the hang of it, but afterwards it was quite fun. I would have liked the ability to retry without losing everything, and of course more options. But really nicely done.

Thanks for the comments! I'm going to try to do some optimizing once I get some sleep. For some reason the build is oddly large. I'm suspecting Unity's new WebGL build is the culprit. The downloads are more quality-customizable than the web player, so if it runs slowly I'd suggest downloading it and drop the resolution or quality down.

This is impressive for a 48 hour jam. Like any sandbox-machine-building game it took a sec to get my bearings, but once I finally killed the guy I was quite pleased haha. The UI was a bit clunky, and the part palette was off on the left and made it hard to understand what it was.But I enjoyed it otherwise, will definitely be coming back!

Interesting idea. With some more parts I could see this being a lot of fun.

One note, the size of the webplayer was too big for my screen (laptop).

Very nice game, but it took me some tries to actually understand the editor and hit the guy.
