Padilla's Pancakes by Borkleby

[raw]
made by Borkleby for LD32 (COMPO)
It's time to serve up some pancakes! That's right, in this game you don't give people pancakes, you SHOOT them. As Fernando Padilla, it is your sole duty to give as many pancakes to as many customers as needed. With the help of your pancake gun, you should be able to serve everyone alone! You don't need employees! Hog that money!

This was made purely with JavaScript and HTML/CSS.

IMPORTANT: Make sure your pancake batter is the one the customer wants. It starts out on 1. Also, you must shoot pancakes onto the table.

It didn't seem to work for me.

The machines had like 3 different numbers, so I just pressed the one I needed (2) and when I shot the guy with it, nothing happened.

Besides this, the game seemed pretty cool.

Interesting idea - took me a while to figure out the "batter" machine, mostly because it looks like a "bitter" machine :)

It would appear that my daughter has been practising to be a waiter at your restaurant, at least given by the way she always throws food on the floor.

Enjoyed the sound effects. Gracias Senor!

Pretty great idea. I like those distorded voices. Its hard to know what pancake to select, maybe it would be easyer if the offscreen "Im hungy" would indicate the wanted pancake. The game is a bit laggy on my computer (Firefox and chrome). Keep up the good work!

Great take on the theme. Quite fun game. The music got a bit annoying and it felt like there was lacking some indicator on how well or bad I was doing. One thing to play around with would be if they cried out their orders to reduce the running a bit. Nice game though.

Interesting game! It lagged quite a bit on Firefox for me, better on Chrome. Still unsure if the music I heard was meant to be heard that way. Nevertheless, I liked the mood of it :)

Just want to add, I heard a partially distorted version of your music limited to my music. Managed to get it to play properly now. I like it a lot.

Nice little variation on the restaurant simulators. Finally I can shoot the stupid customers who decide to leave without even telling me, they existed ;)

Nice idea. Reminded me a bit of an old C64 game I used to play as a kid. Excellente!

I need one of these guns.

Fun game. A bit unfortunate that there's seemingly no scoring or end case, but it otherwise works pretty well. I dig the character design. Good job!

ACTUALLY: if you open up the javascript console, there is a score counter that tells you how much money you earned. I was going to put an actual score counter in at the last minute but for some reason it kept crashing and I scrapped it. Sorry guys, but sometimes you gotta do what ya gotta do and ya gotta not do what you gotta not do.

Hard stuff. Nice work, I had to quickly learn the distance to shoot and where to find these guys. What I think it needs are some more indicators, like how hungry is a customer, what is the current weapon you have, and maybe a score or count to satisfied vs dissatisfied customers. Some customers would moonwalk away :D Audio is so great! Had me laughing.

I really liked the music, and the core mechanic of shooting the pancakes was quite fun. I found running around the big place got a bit tiresome, I'd consider making the levels smaller and making the gameplay more about the speed / accuracy of firing the pancakes.

I wish to purchase a pancake gun, I love pancakes. Really interesting game idea, I found it a bit slow having to go back and forth to the points to change pancake type but it's a good idea. I thought the sound effects were great!

Funny idea! :) I only miss some kind of HUD to know which type of pancakes I'm shooting. I love the music :) Good job!

I liked the idea and sense of humor. I had not enough feedback to know how I was doing. I just read your comment about the console, it's a shame you couldn't put the counter in time.
Good job.

Solid idea, some polishing of player feedback would be nice - also, it would be cool to have the bubbles appear not only on left/right position, but also in corners - so you know if you should go higher or lower floor.

in my browser the game became very slow, very laggy to be honest, and it bothered in time to play.

I'm mexican and this entry made me laugh a lot! hahahaja
I saw your comment about the score issue, and perhaps it would be more complete with it, but still it was very funny! haha xD

Btw, although I'm commenting now, I was able to vote in time :)
