One of them by Pierrec
A short experiment on characterization and one other thing.
It shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to play.
I wrote an intention note where I explain my take on the theme (if needed) and a few other things (see beneath).
(feel free to criticize the game if you want to, I wouldn't feel offended in any way, on the contrary)
Thanks to Julien for the mac port! You're awesome <3

Thank you for this.
It's a great experience & a real message for all. And... [Spoilers]I choose one for this final, it's horrible ! [/spoilers]
Really good. Really, really good. Congratulations !
An interesting approach to the message, letting the player get invested in the characters before pulling the switch makes that message far more powerful.
Sure, 1 in 5 is a statistic, a powerful one, but when I remember that Sandra who played in a band and doesn't like flying is that 1 in 5, it grounds it into an emotional reality
Well done!
It moved me at the end. When the game title and the theme - everything drops and you realise.
Outstanding take on the theme too (I've read your intention note, very interesting).
At first I thought the choices the player made affected the appearance of the girls, but I replayed it a bit and noticed that was not the case. Would have been great if it was, as then the ending would resonate more strongly. However since it is a 48 hour game, it is expected, so no biggie xD
Like I said, great entry and good luck!
However, liked it most for other reasons! It made me feel and think about different thinks regarding character development. It was weird, but once I started adding traits to one character, I felt driven to keep adding traits to that same character (For me, the girl on the left ended up with most of the lines), I don't know if it was because I was starting to love her, but I had to force myself and share traits with other characters. I think I'm not able to explain myself properly hahaha, but it was a super good experience.
I love what this game made me feel and think. Never stop Pierrec!
And it is very clever manipulation of a sort that only a game could deliver. The simple act of selecting traits made me think a little more, invest a little more in the characters than I would have done had they been presented to me without any choice. The ending was far more poignant because of this.
The graphics are lovely and the music acts as a gentle counterpoint to the stark ending. Great work all round.
Anyway, this game is really really good! Well done Pierrec, once again you managed to mix narration, mood and gameplay into a very solid entry :)
Midgame I was thinking that the game lacked gameplay, but now I see that everything fits.
Maybe I would have used more of the previous character info (now it only uses the name) to have a more powerfull impact.
The world needs more games with message like this one.
A different thing to mention, I love the growth of the characters at each question, their answers are great and the music is great.
I will play again just to check if different characters give different answers to the same questions.
Amazing job!
I will remember this game for a long time !
But when it comes to the message, the fact that everything stops after the hit makes it a commercial, (cheap and according to buzzfeed "powerful one") not a game. And it's not like I'll stop drunkingly beating my wife just because I played a 5 minutes game.
I think outside of the message the idea was good in its own right too, I did find it interesting how I selected the characters for each question. Just doing that made me think about my preconceptions, and also gave the characters some life of their own.
The way you build a bond with the characters is quite amazing.
And it really helps to get a grasp on the statistics.
