Mindful Weapon by PeculiarCarrot

made by PeculiarCarrot for LD32 (COMPO)
Mindful Weapon is a game about using your brain to kill stuff. Your goal is to find the Bright Green Orb of Justice, which is hidden somewhere in the Great Cave of Mystery. Along the way you will encounter enemies, which you must kill by launching your brain at them. Careful, though: if you don't get your brain back in time, you will die!

This game is pretty cool! It's a bit difficult, but it looks very nice graphically. I like the mechanic of shooting your own brain and then having to retrieve it again a lot!

The music didn't always play for me, but the few times it worked, it sounded alright!

Oh by the way, I've played this game in Mac OS X and it seems to run fine, so it's not Windows-only at all :)

Very nice game! Suits well with the theme. The animations, sounds and especially the brainless effect are enjoyable.
Would have been much more fun if there was at least some kind of a hint where the Orb is. Currently I feel pretty hopeless about ever finding it.

The brain-flinging mechanic suits well with the theme, and the platforming is really tight.
A clearer indication of where the Orb is would've been nice, I wasn't really sure where I was supposed to go.
The music and sounds effects were really nice, though!

Really nice game. Sometimes the music stops, tho.
Also, its really hard to find the orb, you should give the player some hints.

The game was pretty good, nice graphics and music, but some times the music suddenly stop. I think you should make some animation to the jetpack, and add some hints to find the orb.

But overall, the idea was awesome =)

The graphic effect when you lose your brain is great, so is the music... when it works.

I searched for about 5 minutes in the cave, dodging enemies (killing them is not worth it as it takes multiple hits, too risky, too long) and didn't find anything.

good entry so far

Throwing own brain... LOL ! ! ! Excellent idea. Little hard (more than my game O_O :D ) But still fun!

Whooa the effect when you are literally "brainless" is epic! I like the idea bound to the theme and also nice art!
Well done!

Good game but difficult to avoid loosing the hero's brain ;-).

I have tested it on MacOS X and Linux, there is no sound / music problems.

A training zone before getting in the real game would have been great because the map is too big to begin and it's quite easy to get lost.

was not able to complete the game, but a lot of fun =)
Of the minuses only rather weak grafics.
Good luck to you in further development!

Great concept and nice execution!
I think the fall damage is unnecessary, the map itself is already difficult to handle with.

Neat concept, challenging game! I included it in part 4 of my Ludum Dare 32 compilation video series, if you would like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/aLTEhRhwd8A

Cool idea but the controls don´t work on mac. It seemed like an accident if the game would register me hitting ´z´ to charge my brain. Made the game quite unplayable... Liked the particle effects.

What a great idea! I loved the effect while trying to recover your brain. Solid platforming controls too.

The way the world rotates when you are brainless is one of the best effects I've seen. Very well done! Maybe a bit too hard, but still great!
