You are the carré by thedarknightdu78

[raw]
made by thedarknightdu78 for LD32 (JAM)
You are not the carré is a retro platformer where you are a cameleon-color-changing-square on a mission.

But why are you here ? What is your purpose ? And who is talking to you ?

The game might be hard, don't give up.

Enjoyed the music and innovative concept, but couldn't find the relation to the theme. Only played the first two levels. This thing is pretty tough (in a good way)!

A really nice and innovate idea! Controls can be a touch tricky (doesn't look like you can change colour in the air?)

I am stuck at level... 2 ! I suck. I understand how it works (I guess), but I can't find how to solve the level. Anyway, not a bad puzzle game overall, if only I didn't suck at it... ;)

Basically everything the last person said but I got to the third level. I want to say that I have played something similar to this though I can't remember what. Also the art deco and color scheme are really freaking awesome.

With a time machine, could easily be packaged as a frontrunner release for the Atari 2600.

Well that's a downer ending...

I assume you had an escape sequence planned, and just didn't get around to it?

One of my favourites so far! I hope you take this idea further in the future!!! :D

Was kind of interesting, feels like the levels needed more design put into them though.

Fun, but punishing.

I know the lack of checkpoints and the way the movement speed keeps changing when I hit a ball are techniques you're using to make it more difficult/punishing. One thing that made it feel maybe a little unfair for me is that the player's footprint for gameplay purposes seems to be smaller than the visual one. It means I keep failing jumps that I look like I'm gonna get.

Very innovative gameplay and nice aesthetics.
Really hard as you say, but it has a huge potential.
Good job!

The mechanic is nice, but the controls are perhaps a bit fiddly. Also on the second level it is possible to simply fall off the level and then nothing happens :D

The music is fun and the look of the game is great.

Nice idea ! But i can't beat level 2, the carré is slowed down when i reach some point and then i can't find how to climb my way up again... Maybe i didn't get it when you have another color ball placed inside the player...
