Tongue Lash

Tongues vs Stapler; Unconventional Weapons.
Staple the tongues to the ground!
Collect Light Stones!
How many can you get? Watch your step!

My first LD, in the bag! It was a great challenge to push myself to move art through my pipeline, starting with Zbrush, ending in Unity 5, all in a day and a half. Then I had to squeeze some game design and a dash of code in at the end there. Seems there’s more to a game jam than just making pretty pictures!

“Music”: Compiled from Freesound.org files, mixed and layered in audacity.

Very surreal. Very awesome. :-)

I got stuck though, one of the heads had partially descended into the ground when I stapled its tongue, so I could not get back out of the hole after picking up the light gem (hmm, I think that this might be the most surreal bug report I've ever logged ;-) )

Awesome! This type of game is what makes me love game jams. Very nice interpretation of the theme and very different while fun and playable.

Alright. This is real nightmare fuel. I see there's a nice twisted thought about it.
I just don't like this weirdish-nightmarish setting, it freaks me out. I also don't really understandy what's the unconventional weapon... A log? A.. blackjack?

3/5 because of the strange game and innovative gameplay.

Oh man, that game terrifies me on so many different levels :-)

Well, that is terrifying. Really nicely done - excellent animation, fitting audio, and very engaging level design. The slight cracks you're getting around the sides of your skybox - those I think can be fixed by tweaking your skybox import settings. Try changing mapping, fixup edge seams, and the filter mode. Nice job!

This is great! I love the surealism as well. Its a bit hard to hit them at first, but then i just jumped on their heads and smacked them hard - gimme that point! Overall well done sir!

Wow. This is nightmare fuel. And I don't like horror. So I might be biased. Anyways, good job taking your time sculpting the models! It, along with the growl, really adds to the creepiness. It really sells as an horror game, so it wasn't fun for me.

Thanks all for the comments and the feedback! I hope I didn't leave anyone with nightmares, lol. And thank you ianburnette for the info. Those skyboxes were driving me nuts, but I just did not have enough time to sort them out. You know how it goes, haha.

Awesome job, especially considering how much you did in such a short amount of time. I love the freakish nightmare mood, and the unconventional weapon is spot on. Bravo.

Wow... I had a stupid grin on my face the whole time I was playing this. Like a twisted game of whack-a-mole where the moles are giant and terrifying... that was an awesome experience!!

A tongue which needs ammo - that's what I call an unconventional weapon :D.

Sorry, wrong tab ;P.

So, HERE, we have a goddamn "American McGee's Worms" :D. Seriously, the scariest thing I have seen here. Magnificent.

Using the stapler is a little bit clumsy. It's nice you've written in the description, what to use the stapler for, because I would never get close to these heads in my life.

Good job.

Fantastic atmosphere, audio and visuals. I never knew I'd enjoy stapling giant tongues to the ground until today! It's great to learn new things about yourself...

There is a lot of talent on display here. One of my favourite games so far.

I like the surrealism. The gigantic hit boxes on the tongues make it easy once you realize you can just hold the left mouse button down and edge up while attacking. Not being able to invert the mouse sucked.
