Took way too long to get to the actual game. But once it did very neat. Awesome graphics and sound. Really liked the background scrolling effect and dragon animation. Very slick.

The art and music is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is super well polished but there's not really much of a game. It feels more like an interactive one page pop-up book.

Music: Amazing
Art: Fantastic
And I left the game with a shiver down my spine. All of my game designy brain is telling me that there isn't much of an actual game here, BUT, I left it really pleased and I know for sure that I just experienced some good art! It was a really nice experience ^_^

Incredible graphics and movement on the dragon, but the lack of gameplay detracted somewhat. Very polished for what there was though.

This is definitely piece of art. But the ending a bit disappointing. After he became free I was expecting to see a _new_ or _another_ dragon, or maybe not dragon at all.
But still, great entry!

Blew...my....MIND!!!!

How someone can make this much gorgeous artwork, gameplay, animation, and beautiful soundtrack in 48 hours is beyond amazing!!!

Puts my game to shame!

And I also disagree with the others, the long intro sets the mood for the calm game play with a sort of restless feeling of the dragon wanting to go.

I always love your games. This one is like Sinister as well: not much of a game, but rather an experience. LOVED the art, the theme and the overral mood. I also found countrols to feel great.

Please, make a larger version of this with actual gameplay. I'd so surf the skies with this dragon! Amazing work!

Really nice graphics and dragon movements! Music is ok. The game play is.... there's no game play actually. It's kinda boring wait for the 'orbs' appear, so i can 'find' them.

An absolutely gorgeous game, and one of the most impressive I've seen so far. It may be more of an interactive story than a game - but it hardly matters when you deliver such a polished experience. Congratulations on getting this all done in 48 hours - you're very talented, Mr Williamson!

Gorgeous graphics and so impressed by the dragon animation, the movement is incredibly fluid. Also, the introduction really sets the mood just right.

Wow, great graphics here!

I like the gameplay although it's really simple, it feels nice! (I think it's too bad that the game's over so quickly though, I would have enjoyed flying a bit more, even with no objective^^)

Music is cool too.
Theme is well respected, it's nice.

The music and art are spectacular. The game is also very polished! Gameplay is very shallow but I loved watching the dragon fly around. I felt the intro was a bit too long for such a short game. Great job though! It's so impressive you were able to make all the art in 48 hours.

Like your previous entry, the art is totally amazing, but the gameplay is still a bit light. But your flight engine in Spiral Wings is really good and I especially liked the way you can dash with a long mouse move. The intro is really good too :)

It seems like there is a clear progression in your coding skills with this entry, and I can't wait to see your next creations :)

It's a very solid interactive experience. Art and sound are all great, as is the story. Story doesn't break any new ground, and the ending could have been a little stronger I feel, but the piece as a whole really works. The movement of the dragon is part of what really sells it, the flying is dynamic and natural. Beautiful piece of interactive art.

10. Dec 2014 · 00:11 UTC
Completely amazing. I can't believe this was made in 48 hours! The graphics and sound are beyond compare, and the tone of the entire game is amazing. I would say there's not much 'game' in this game though - it's rather short and there's not a whole lot to do. For those reasons, I rate this very highly in terms of graphics, audio and general presentation, but not quite so well in terms of gameplay mechanics. It does tell a charming story in a very short space of time, with the intro definitely setting the mood well. I didn't think it did much terribly innovative with the theme itself, although I do understand it was difficult to do so, given what the theme was. I'm still shocked by the level of presentation though. I won't be at all surprised if it wins anything, especially the audio, graphics or mood awards, or perhaps even overall. The parallax scrolling and the dragon animation were welcome small touches, although I encountered one small bug (it feels almost like I'm nit-picking by mentioning it, but it may help you out): when I reached about 7 points, the dragon's animation got stuck into its 'fast' animation where the wings are tucked in. Not sure why it happened, and nothing game-breaking, but I thought I'd mention it. Very good job.

Awesome graphics, awesome moving pattern on the character, everything about the layout (music, intro scene , etc... ) is perfect!
But the gameplay really lacks something exctiding. Besides the first 30sec where you enjoy A LOT how you can move, the game feels empty. U wander randomly waiting for the soul parts to spawn, and there is no real challenge besides waiting and moving your mouse.
Well, the theme wasn't a blast, but cutscenne + ingame scroll is kinda out of bounds .

As an interactive experience, it's near perfect !

Looks and sounds amazing. Love the dragon thing that you play as.
Not much gameplay to be had. I found it very irritating when you move your mouse off of the game window you shoot off to the top left corner of the screen, it made it very hard to fly anywhere but the centre of the screen.
I love the way you fold your wings in when you move fast but I think you slow down again too quickly. The closer you get to your target the slower you move so it can feel like a struggle to reach it.

10. Dec 2014 · 21:06 UTC
The graphics are very lovely but the interaction is bland. I wish there was something to break up the monotony of collecting the souls, either more story revealed or more mechanics added. The only motive for collection is to fill the soul quota.

The parallax effect and animation on the background are excellent, but maybe the colors and drawing could be made edgier. It's a bit stock fantasy, though very pleasant looking and well done.

Very cool very short story with a beginning, middle and end. Jaw dropping graphics and the way the sun in the background highlights the scene. The animation on the dragon is very impressive and the audio fit the magical feeling of this snapshot of the world you built. The gameplay itself was maybe a bit too simple from the game side of things, but I absolutely loved this! Fantastic job!

I really like the color palette you used for this entry. It reminds me of the old Anne McCaffrey book covers, and the choice of making the dragon a little bit too large for the space was really great. Large fish, small pond, and the looseness of the controls gave a great sense of freedom. I really wished that there had been some more sense of choice, though--I was honestly expecting some kind of hidden-object game or puzzle at the very least. Orb-chasing in this case left me with a piece of my soul flitting across the screen even after I'd been told I'd recovered everything, which really shattered the mood. The opening shot of the well, though... that was really solid, an evocative image of despair.

Thank you for the experience!

Once again, I'm speechless.

I'm astonished by how beautiful and awesome this is. Flying through the skies felt great (though I should say that I don't like the mouse for that... it always get weird when near the edge of the screen).

The intro set up the mood perfectly. The music really helped during the descend on that well, and the dragon on it's ascend. Then the sky, so clear and pretty, made flying through it and its landscape so satisfying.

As a game, it may be indeed simple. But, as an interactive experience, I really enjoyed it. It's amazing how much more complete this game is, compared to your previous entry. (which had already superb art, but lacked "game-like" gameplay).

Keep up the awesome work!! =D

Within the first few seconds of the intro, I recognized the art and sound style from playing your last LD entry. Wonderful, top notch, professional audio and visuals. The intro got me really hyped to play. I appreciate how you try to fit a story into a LD game.

The main issue I have with this entry echos what others have said... it's just not much of a game. I felt the same way about your last entry. I don't mean to sound discouraging, you clearly have talent, but IMO, gameplay must be prioritized.

I look forward to playing your games (LD or otherwise) in the future.

What an stunningly beautiful game, not even thinking about how much time it was made in. The music and atmosphere is absolutely amazing. The way the dragon moves with your cursor is flawless. The actual movements of the dragon as well as the animations is just so well done. It's simple, but in a good way. Such a pleasure.

This really shows how important atmosphere is in games. Absolutely cannot wait to see if you continue with this game. :D
