Dungeon of Jest by Ithildin
Objective:
========================
Welcome to the Dungeon of Jest! There's just one room, and the goal is easy as pie. Just go and get the blue orb :D
The connection with the theme may seem a bit loose at first sight. I'll try to explain why I think it's not the case in the forthcoming postmortem that I intend to write tomorrow or during the incoming week.
Controls:
========================
Left-right: Movement
Space: Jump
Up-down: Go up/down ladders
P (in-game): Pause
(Known issue: The M key to mute is not functional although it appears listed in the menu popup)
Dev. tools
===============
>> Haxe (Haxeflixel) on FlashDevelop
>> Photoshop, TexturePacker Essential
>> Tiled
>> Bfxr
//-------------------------------------
EDIT!! I've added a link to the HTML5 version. It's the same, but I've fixed a positioning issue with the popups, so I reckon that technically it does not belong in the compo.
EDIT 2: Replaced Swf download link with a link to the postmortem. If you're interested, get it here: https://db.tt/Um1elMzx
EDIT 6/11/2016: Updated web links

I've only tried it on my machine (Win8.1, 64b) and it worked fine, so I may need to go through the specifics of how to deploy Windows targets from Haxe.
Just to be sure, I've just re-uploaded the *.7z with the Windows binaries again. If anything, I've removed an old executable labelled as "NewProject" that had been bundled in addition to the final one (LD31.exe), so that's some space saved.
That's the effect I wanted to achieve, but I admit that it would have helped a lot having at least twice as many levels.
Ben.
Is there any way to kill the enemies? jumping on them kind of worked only for the first one.
A couple more levels would have been very nice, as you stated above. Very good job! ;)
There's a lot of potential for additional mechanics and innovative puzzles, if you ever do choose to expand the game.
I really liked it, thought it was pretty fun. Loved the change-level animations :P Could use some background music, and I think the levels lack a bit of depth. Keep it up!
I've taken notice of most of the feedback (particularly about the physics, amount of levels and visual style -well, to name it in some way n_nU) in case I give it a try and expand it (or for future games, of course!).
As for jumping on enemies and not killing them, that's a bug, I'm afraid. I'm bumped into that (pun intended) myself a couple of times :S
gravity is too low I think, also miss some juice to be fully enjoyable.
I like how level is changing.
