Sdioretsa by Tangent128

[raw]
made by Tangent128 for LD31 (JAM)
A casual, unambitious entry we (Chrysolophus & Tangent) did to take the edge off of winter.

------

You are an intrepid spacer of the Erehwon Asteroid Fields. Life is pretty good between hollowing out asteroids for their rich ore-y innards and the freeze-dried meals.

Oh who are we kidding? Life sucks. It’s claustrophobic, the food bites, and you need to put up panels over the windows just to sleep properly at what passes for “night”. And it’s just gotten significantly worse now that the S.S. Triangle has shown up to launch a raid.

Being types who stand to lose a lot here, it’s time to fight back with what you can… Which would be with some good-old fashioned space rocks and some gravity wells to launch them with.

Objective: Click to place a gravity well and destroy the S.S. Triangle with your redirected asteroids before they are vaporized.

I liked the reverse Astroid game playstyle. A bit too short but fun :-)

An innovative perspective on the space shooter genre, the mechanic works well, still haven't won yet though!

Love the idea for this game. Asteroids was one of my favorite games way back when.

Excellent job with humour and mood, set with just the right amount of text.

This was actually kind of cute. Let's see, the instructions should say "hold" or "click and hold" instead of just "click". Also, it seemed like the gravity wells only affect near asteroids; I want to see the entire screen get yanked around when I manipulate gravity! Then again, if you're doing the actual inverse-square rule, then I can see why that happened...

Original and nicely put together, could use some sounds but fun nonetheless. Nice job!
