Beats Me is a game about the beat of the music, keeping in time with the music will increase your score, but you may have to give that up in exchange for keeping up with the level.

I like the stretching/scrolling effect, and I'm a sucker for music/rhythm games. It was kinda hard to tell how much tapping to the beat really helped my score, since nothing was shown 'til the end, but I enjoyed tapping away in time with the music anyway. =)

Doesn't run on Windows 8 without JDK.

I like this concept. I'm not sure if I'm just missing something or what, but it appeared after the second room, there's no way to get through a solid wall blocking the path? The visuals were great. The stretching of the blocks, and movement based ont he beat is awesome.

Nice take on the theme, the bending of the level reminds me of that game Passage. Nice music. The game was kind of tricky, especially the red squares that appear every 4 bars or whatever, if you're not looking ahead those can trip you up.

I really like how you interpreted the theme with the level stretching. Nice music too. Really fun game.

Made it to 241 and then there appeared to be pillars blocking the path that never went away. More indication of when you are correctly "moving to the beat" would be helpful.

"Is...The game going to start or.."- Music starts
*Literal 5 minutes of dancing ensues*

10/10 would jam to again.

We enjoyed it.

I really liked the music. Hard to figure out a couple of different places.

Doesn't work for me on OSX 10.9. When running the .command I get "usage: dirname path" and when I manually cd to the directory and run "java -jar ld31-0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar" it crashes with "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no lwjgl in java.library.path." It's a shame, this game looks great!

Really nice idea. It's not too easy and not too hard, and I like the scroll effect. I hope you make more games like this :)

@rainshapes: chmod a+x game.sh and then ./game.sh and the game started for me in 10.10

Really great concept! I love rhythmn games like that, only it seemed not always was I getting points when I should have - I feel maybe some leniency both ways should be added.

very cool but the thing with the colored walls made me sick... Not color blind friendly ;) but very cool!!

Love how you handled the theme! It's rather unfair at points, though, especially at the walls you can only pass when the color is different from the other walls.

The idea is very interesting. Cool game. I will say you probably need to give a feedback (bad/good/perfect) if the player are good on their rhythm or not. I am a rhythm game player but I don't know if I am in the correct rhythm that you want.

The level unrolling effect was very cool, and as someone who appreciate rhythm games I felt into good company. The constant tension between trying to be "on beat" and trying not to die was very interesting. Keeping this on my hard drive to play it again from time to time!

Really nice, I liked the color walls but I had to die a few times to get it. It's only missing just a few more signs & feedback to the player, besides that, I really loved the idea!

It was a bit hard to tell if I was benefiting from moving in time but it was fun to try anyways. :) I like the stretchyness and color changing with the rhythm. Surprisingly relaxing. :)

Grid based movement in a real-time game - reminds me of ZZT. Would love to play this on a dance pad sometime. :D

Really well done! I've had a lot of fun playing it.
I've made a kind of rhythm game too (but for the compo), but you focused more on the gameplay, mine's more story driven. Keep on it!
