Where is my sword?! by Kaijuu

[raw]
made by Kaijuu for LD31 (JAM)
You can't directly control your sword, but you can ask it to attack the boss or defend you, and maybe the sword will do it.

Use WASD to move around, Space to call the sword back and to activate bonus.

Use F5 instead of in-game restart, it's not so bugged.

That was really fun! Love the falling tiles, made it quite a challenge. Just me though, I wished I could use left click instead of space though. :P Not very dexterous with my left hand, it got all tangled up.

Nice game, really beautiful, I wish I could use a closer camera to see the details.

Strange but fun gameplay! :)

Awesome art, concept and UI. I loved the idea of the huge flying sword :D. I just wish we could get a clearer path to the other areas. I found myself dodging bullets from areas that I couldn't reach for a long time. But honestly, this is a very cool and polished game. Good job!

Lovely colors and great pixel art! The sword seems to have a mind of it's own which makes it fun and unpredictable.

Wow, superb art! I'm not so sure about the gameplay though. It would be very nice to see this game with more polished mechanics! Keep working on it!

I like the graphics ;).
Also, found a bug that when I game over and pressed a key (I pressed E key), the game can still be continue without player but the sword keeps attacking.

Very impressive and fun entry. Also really difficult, but in an enjoyable way.

Good game. Pixel art is good on the sword and boss, decent enough on the rest. Gameplay could be better, but the idea is interesting. Keep it up.

Awesome graphics ! I love the idea, but some of the swords movement seem confusing to me when it flies around you.
On another note, it's not always easy to read and move around the fallen tiles, it may add up a little too much difficulty to moving around, but that's just my two cents.

Great game overall !

The art is awesome. The sword flying around is a bit confusing to start but you get used to it. Cool idea and game.

Sweet game! That is a really cool idea. I love switching between attacking the boss and trying to mitigate all of the hives around you. I wish I could have had control of swinging the sword around myself, but overall it was fun and I loved the aesthetic! Awesome job. :)

Great idea ! I really liked that game. :) Though the sword could be more wildish and less listening to you. The graphics are awesome and the concept is quite cool.

Lovely art, and an interesting core mechanic. It would be nice to get more visual feedback when you hit an enemy, so you know your attacks are working. Awesome job!

Lotta cool stuff going on here: tiles, big boss, nice art, cool sword concept. I think the motion of the sword needs work though: it is unpredictable and not very fluid, and overall doesn't "sing" like it should.

Interesting concept and pretty graphics, although I was slightly confused on what I was doing or why I was doing it...

The space between instructions seem to startle me though, I kept think "oh no, what did I do? Did I die?" whenever one would stop my game and pop up.

Superb ambiance with nice graphics. I like the smart core mechanic with a good risk/reward balance. The destructive floor is a nice touch. I would have liked to be able to escape more easily from the mob if I get blocked.

I would have liked more control over the sword especially when it was around you and the sounds were a bit harsh. But overall it has gorgeous graphics and it was fun!

I found the swords movement to be a bit odd, in the way it bounced off things sometimes, not quite how I'd expect, so it's hard to predict its movement on occasion. Really love the art style!

Interesting concept! I found the sword a tad too unpredictable at times (it seemed like it would randomly jump towards the boss even when in the "attack enemies" mode). I also wish the boss moved, it'd add a lot to the atmosphere. Still, nice art and an engaging concept!

Great concept, and gameplay is varied and fun. A bit slow on OS X (because of Flash?), and collision detection isn't perfect.
