Click For Dragons! by vinull

[raw]
made by vinull for LD31 (JAM)
We decided to combine the fun of idle games like cookie clicker with the RPG setting of games like Dragon Age. It's a game you can play while playing other games in Ludum Dare!

The development team was myself, my wife, and my two oldest daughters (we entered the game jam as a team). Even though this is a jam entry, everything in the game was made by us.

Neat interpretation of the theme--combining what would otherwise be multiple screens/menus into one.

The system was good at early levels, but I found it easy to game if you invested in the right party combination early on.

Yes - the game is nowhere near "balanced" and it's possible to overflow int's and get into some really weird places (though you could consider a signed int the hidden boss!). Ask me in a few days if I'll go back and work on it - right now I'm over looking at the code of this game! =p

Oooh a a clicky-clicky game. I played this far longer than I expected to. The balancing is a bit on the easy side, but that didn't stop me from clicking a bunch. Nice job and I really like the character art. What is the black-haired woman with the thing in her hand supposed to be? A high level professional of some sort? No matter. She was no match for my party.

I think she is a fairy, or at least we had "fairy" down as a monster and that's what led to her art.

Very nice take on the "cookie-clicker" genre :P

I like the graphics and the upgrades.

Too bad it's way unbalanced.

I love idle games! Did you ever play Megami Quest? This reminded me a lot of that. I loved the little visualization on the side, and the promise of dragons kept me clicking. A little too easy, for my taste (does that even make sense in this genre?).

Nice game! With some balancing and lots of polish (graphics, sounds, music), this would be a great game!

Cool, an incremental game on Ludum Dare, but with dragons!

Also it's really nice that you made this with your family. :)

A bit too easy, as I can choose when to go deeper : ).
But enjoyable indeed, I made so many XP and Gold ^^.

I liked the variety of monsters as the game progressed! I forgot to level up, then later found it impossible to die.
