DotKeeper by Fera

[raw]
made by Fera for LD31 (COMPO)
Hi,

that's my second Ludum Dare entry. :>
My game uses the theme as game-mechanic.
Don't let the spawning dots leave the screen. Catch or destroy them. It's getting harder over time.

Used tools:
- Eclipse
- LibGDX
- Paint.net
- sfxr

Hehe this is really challenging... My best try was 3:53 :) Nice idea how you get rid of too much objects at the screen. The startingScreen gfx looks nice... A little bit more gfx to the dots would have been nice, and a few soundFX too. But I like short and challenging games a lot... with my mouse at home i should have better scores ;)

i really like the idea, while secretly wishing for collisions between the dots. :) also, imo it would be more challenging if the life bar was much lower. keep up the good work! :)

Hey I want to play it on a touch screen!

Very simple and effective mechanic, the graphics and sounds are a bit rough though
When I had some dots going out of the screen, they just kept spamming, nothing particular happened

Time: 4:29. Simple concept, very simple graphics. I had fun but I could definitely see this as more enjoyable with touch controls.

Quite an original idea. Will do well on a phone or tablet with better sound (and graphics).

Nice idea. The explosions could be a bit faster since the circles move at the same pace right now.

I like the concept idea and his progressive difficulty. Still, I would like it to be more eye-catching and friendly. And a better sound xD.

Overall, I like it :)

Hi there. Oh dang, this is great game mechanic. Needs a bit of polish. Also maybe a little tricky early on - not to lose but to let some dots off. Good job!

I'm not sure that I'm dig in gameplay. But I like this minimalistic style!

Simple but brilliantly executed idea (and much harder than you think). I really like how as soon as drag another dot, the one you previously stopped starts moving again.

Lol. Really addictive. I couldn't stop playing. The bomb is a really good point to take in consideration. Really love this game. Congratulations for your solid entry.

The first sound effect that played was louder than I expected and slightly late so it startled me, but that's probably an issue with libGDX/HTML5 not preloading the sounds. I managed 4 minutes 58 seconds, and it was very challenging. I liked the game, good job.

It was an interesting concept that gave me a fun experience, included it in my random LD31 gameplay video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ei_gJeG5cgM

Amazing idea. Addicting and stressful right off the bat. Wanted more control effects like a paddle power up to swipe a bunch at once when things get hectic. NO AUDIO!? Want simple blip bloop kablam! sounds.
