Knight Them All by BoraxKid

[raw]
made by BoraxKid for LD31 (COMPO)
Hi. For my first game jame and for the theme, I decided to make a beat them all game, in 2D. Unfortunately I didn't have all the time and the skill to do everything I imagined.

Made in C++ with SFML and Paint.NET for the graphics. Coded in Code::Blocks.

The goal of the game is to kill as many ennemies as you can, I only had the time to make a skeleton, with ... "simple" animations, and the player, a knight.
I wanted to had a lot of things such as projectile (fireballs atleast) and more ennemies, with a better AI, but I couldn't, for the next LDs, I'll will work at 400% !

Hope you enjoy it.

Controls:
ZQSD to move (or WASD, in the 2nd .exe).
Left Click to attack.

The controls didn't seem to make sense for me with my keyboard. Was expecting WASD, but instead seems to be ZQSD? Made it very difficult to play. The animations were nice.

What is up with the control scheme? S is down and D is right, but Q is left and I can't figure out what up is. could use some instructions..

Nice to see other entries using C++/SFML :D

Shift+Alt doesn't change the control scheme for me. Beyond that, the animations are nice and the gameplay is okay.

I'd be interested to know the win condition of this game. I couldn't last longer than two minutes against the swarm...

I had high expectations for graphics and I'm super satisfied (I also use a lot paint haha). It is a shame that the life bar is so disgusting.

Gameplay side controls are a little rough, but the result is very decent for a first gamejam :P The type of game's already seen but beat'M all die hard haha.

If you want to improve your game, rather than adding enemies and associated features I would advise you to seek further level design solutions. The graphical environment can afford things pretty cool. (Well, and then gameplay side I like the combos and big damage so I'd say good to try to make THAT IT GETS)

Cool to see some C++/SFML, hopefully I'll feel comfortable enough to try it out some time.

Really cool gameplay. Graphics are very nice, so are the animations. The controls were a bit off which made it hard to play, but very interesting concept.
