Dugeon Loop by sorle

[raw]
made by sorle for LD31 (JAM)
The objective of the game is simple. Complete the dungeon and defeat the boss. Click on the boss icon to visit him. You have to collect coins to buy a better weapon or a spell and gain experience points by killing enemys. You can choose if you want to level up your attack skill or your mana.
But you can`t stop. You`re constantly going on in circles through the dungeon .You will die a couple of times before you are able to kill the boss. Fortunately, you`re in a loop so you can respawn instantly.
Enjoy.

Controls are:

ctrl - attack
alt - spell

Hmm. oddly interesting. The art was actually quite nice. Although it could be a bit more uniform all over. The knight looked good, and I'm always a sucker for a medieval style. Working with stats like you did here adds a lot more playing around with this rather simple game. Nice work!

Neat concept, I like the idea of having movement restricted yet predictable. Could use more of a challenge, as it is now it's just a matter of running around enough. Nice idea though!

Very innovative concept :) The game needs a little bit more polishing, though.

The poor little skullies ended up getting stuck on walls and in the control panel. :D This is like a rail-shooter for dungeon crawling. Kudos!

I think if you were to spend more time into really making this work, you could really make something cool. Even for this simple little game, it was fun to play for a few minutes. :)

Shame on the enemy AI though, they all got stuck in a corner somewhere :D

I really like the racetrack concept, it's like playing with slot cars.

Very cool, I was able to play from start to finish :D

At first i had trouble finding my character and knowing who i was controlling, his hair being the same colour as the skulls made it harder.

I tried to find a reliable way to avoid damage and was able to mostly, but sometimes when i sworded the enemy they got knocked into me as well. I eventually managed to defeat the boss, but i felt like i restarted too many times to feel like it was an achievement.

I also didn't realize at first that I had to buy something before i'd be able to use magic.

Very interesting concept! Feels like a backwards tower defense. Good job!

Nice take on a rogue-like (without the random levels, but with the stat carry over). Took me 8 lives to kill the boss the first time.

Great idea. I couldn't figure out how to use magic unfortunately but this is definetily something I haven't seen before.
