LD31 - Catstation - João Marinheiro & Daniel Pereira by jocamar
Catstation was made by me, Jo茫o Marinheiro and Daniel Pereira and it's our first entry into a Ludum Dare contest.
This was a tough theme for us since we weren't really expecting it but we came up with a simple shooter game where the objective is to stay alive. Fortunately you have a weapon to help you kill the pesky enemies that will try to viciously murder you.
Try to rack up as many points as you can before they take you down.
There are some bugs in the game unfortunately but we hope you still have fun playing it as we had a lot of fun making it. We hope to take what we learned in these last days and use it to make an even better game next time.
The game was made using melonJS (http://melonjs.org/) and all art was taken from OpenGameArt.org and DA. Huge thanks to the authors:

Had much fun in here hahaha the enemies sometimes didn't hurt me, but nothing that really breaks the experience. Congratulations!! The audio is awesome too

That may have been because of the temporary invulnerability you get when you get hit. We probably did a bad job conveying that. Otherwise it's another bug we didn't have time to test :)

nice little game, I would improve the shoot hit into enemies, stoping them for walking while I'm shooting them maybe?. good work

Nice! You said this is your first Ludum Dare - have you made games before?

Really nice job! It was maybe not an original concept but the execution was really nice. One thing I had a problem with was that because everything was so small, it was hard to understand the collision for my bullets. Perhaps you could be more generous and give me a bigger gun :)
