Down with Bio by sockfolder

[raw]
made by sockfolder for LD31 (JAM)
Bio-Firm X has been experimenting with some dangerous genetic engineering. Teach them a lesson by destroying their headquarters!

This is a score challenge game. Try to get as high a score as you can!

Controls:

Arrow keys to move
Up to jump
Down to fast fall
Z to boost to the side
X to attack
Down+X while on the ground to drop some dynamite

Have fun!

My personal best is 463428. Post your high scores in chat.

Tips: You build up a combo while stuff is falling/shaking. Keep the roof coming down to maximize your score! Also, try to destroy more stuff at the same time for a bonus.

Overall a really fun to play game, would help to mention more about how the dash mechanics work and to see some developer highscores/have a local highscore board.

43430. I'm going to go ahead and assume that's vastly lower than your score.

Dynamite for the win. Played without looking at the controls as usual, figured out everything except dynamite and got ~13k the first two times, looked up controls, spammed dynamite everywhere :P .

Interesting use of the theme, I like that you used such a small resolution as well, I found it difficult to get anything good even out of 1920x1080 with one screen, but here you managed that just fine at a fraction of that.

Nice one.

What a cool way to interpret the theme. There was a "woah" effect when the level starts coming down =)

Pretty fun! I liked the mechanic-- dash attacking to destroy the pillars was an interesting feature.

It would be great if the little green enemies were taller/more visible: I had trouble seeing them amongst the rubble on the first floor.

I like the core game mechanic, I haven't really played anything like it before. I didn't spend too much time jumping around, my strategy was to fight on the bottom floor while avoiding falling platforms.

Great idea and execution, it was fun.

Fun! I liked the blobby enemy designs - reminds me of some game I played way back in the mists of time. The demolition mechanic is pretty cool too.

I liked this really much! I can punch projectiles... Do I need to say more? Nice innovative design choice with boosting through the poles that hold up the platforms. You keep to the theme nicely, and this arcadey game has flavor! Some polish to this game and it'd be a good hit! Good job, overall!

Nice idea with sweet platforming (which works in multiple levels)!

It could be described a bit more, but overall I liked it :)

The game was a bit confusing to learn, but awesome afterwards. Fix the full screen though pls, the UI is really kinda broken when you do that! Mad props for the changing platforming, reminds me of my game! (Not even a shameless plug!)

How do you even get the game in full screen? lol
Thanks for the comments.

Definitely one of the more interesting uses of the theme I've seen so far! Could use some polish on the controls, but still stands as a solid game. :)

This is so much fun, feels so rewarding to destroy things and get out of there alive. The graphics could've been better but it fits the mood. Good job!
