Catapult Whack-A-Mole by Absor

[raw]
made by Absor for LD36 (COMPO)
Control with WASD and mouse. Mouse right for camera control and mouse left for shooting.

A learning experience with PlayCanvas which I had not used before.

End result: I don't like PlayCanvas. Everything is just hard to use and mistakes are easy to make. This is why I'm giving up long before the deadline (it is not fun to use bad tools, making something bad doesn't really matter).

Features:

- wheel rolling based on movement (hard to see because they're just cylinders)
- mostly basic shapes used (didn't want to touch modeling tools)
- wheels leave marks
- reloading catapult (with which you probably won't hit anything)
- animations done in code
- blood particle effects
- no objectives

Good "techdemo". :) Animation is good, i like the controls.
But I can't hit anything.

Works well enough, needs some player feedback though, points, damage, something. Just sitting here letting the dots come at me and nothing's happening.

Controls weren't so bad really, this had potential, but I understand not wanting to carry on with a tool you don't like. Killing enemies is satisfying as they leave a swath of carnage behind (or in front) of you, getting a good launch while putting distance between you and the enemies is also satisfying. Sound effects would be nice but again I understand you just wanted to move on and check this in. Sticks well to the theme with the use of the catapult.
