Room 5 by Thingus

[raw]
made by Thingus for LD31 (JAM)
Room 5; a tech demo
By Thingus(code) and i0003(assets, level design)

The idea we had behind this was to have a game where you interact entirely with a world viewed through CCTV cameras, using only a switchboard and PA system. Who's listening to the PA system and carrying out your instructions? Good question!

Unfortunately, real life got in the way and we were only able to implement this basic demo. You can view the cameras using the switchboard (if you see static, experiment some), and one room brings up an interaction menu (but the interaction doesn't work). I spent too long trying to do the puzzle system 'right', and wound up with no puzzles at all :-( However, we do intend to carry on development of this, at least until our UnityPro trial expires and we can't use the RenderTextures anymore; watch this space for further updates.

Tool used: Unity Pro, Blender, Paint.NET

Erm... The Windows Version that is provided is just the html file with an embed to a unity3d scene that does not exist. Did you mean to share that too?

I'll check back tomorrow for the web version. Judging by the lighting this looks goose bumpy.

Aesthetically this is beautiful., but play space is a little small with respect to the tiny CCTV haha.

Checked the web version out. Definitely needs to be played within a big window. It will be interesting to see what comes out of this.

Now your ludumdare as well as your itch.io page say "watch this space for further updates.". So I take it both are good to go after.

I won't rate it because it's unfinished but the concept looks neat and the presentation it very nice. Will you keep working on it?

Good idea for the theme! It's a pity you weren't able to get it done.

This submission is a great fit for the theme. It's a shame life got in the way of development. I hope this concept is pursued further in the future!
