Hi, nice game and congratulations ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #36. We made the same thing at the previous jam.

Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description.

Hi and thank you for considering our little game for the video! I've now added it on the site. :) Right now it's download only (will add browser one asap.)

It's a really nice game.
I don't know what the "current state" of block breaker games is (didn't play any since the original Arkanoid) - but there are quite some nice variations to the genre (breakable objects influenced by physics, not only the upper side of the bat but also sides that are facing left and right)...

I also liked the story, music and light-hearted atmosphere of the storytelling bits in between. Really well done!

About improvements: I had the feeling that I didn't really have a lot of influence on the movement of the ball (except for receiving the ball with the arms instead of the head) - but usually by moving the bat in the same moment as the ball touches it you can give the ball some additional spin...

Also a button to restart and/or a speedup button would also be useful: Restart since the ball can get stuck in very rare cases (it did so in my case in the stage with the big pot - It got stuck between the two black blocks at the very top. And sometimes the ball has a really flat angle so you need to wait a long time until you can actually do something - in which case a speedup button would be useful.

Thanks for the game! And keep up the good work!

We're hoping to release a post-jam version at some point in the future to address at least some of the issues you talk about. For example, one of our initial ideas was to implement power-ups in form of glyphs that would give speed boosts and a bit more control of the ball while it's in the air so we'll definitely do that (and hopefully more) once we're a bit less green.

Thank you very much for the feedback and we're also very happy to hear you liked the game! :)

What a great game! It's just what I enjoy in a jam game: simple and fun gameplay with an abundance of great flavor. I loved the story and I'm a really big fan of the art - a lot of humor packed into Ancient Egyptian-y drawings!

The game was really fun - it's interesting that you can knock the pots around in addition to just smashing them - though it could be a little slow when there were only a few pots left, so I do like the power-up idea. Anyway, overall, it feels like a complete, enjoyable game - nice work!
