Attack Of The Regurgitor! by enteagd

made by enteagd for LD31 (JAM)
AOTR! is a game made in 72 hours for Ludum Dare 31. The theme was "Entire Game On One Screen".

It is an easy to play casual game, featuring 3 playable characters and one playable gamemode. Eat evil scientists to grow large enough to escape their evil island lab!

Game was made in GameMaker Studio, and the majority of the art was made with Photoshop and Hexels Pro.

All other art used with permission from opengameart.org

SFX used with permission from freesfx.co.uk.

After a rocky start with the theme (this was actually the third prototype I cooked up) I began to have a lot of fun with the theme, and enjoy the game I made!

If I had more time, I'd have liked to add extra stages, and more things that could happen per stage - as it is I am sick of looking at it. Balancing audio with gameplay round times would have been nice too. (Less Time traveller spawns!)

Hope you enjoy!

EDIT: Getting a lot of comments on the artwork, and I feel I need to clarify what was and what was not made by me.

What I made: Characters and animations, particle effects, the tardis, the vom, transitions, menu art, cursors.

What I did not make: The background of the island in the water. This was made by the talented bunch at opengameart.org as part of their LPC collection. The gui bars.

You're all being super nice, but I feel that despite making the majority of it myself, I need to opt out of the graphics category?

interesting concept for the game! i liked how simple the control scheme was and the different variations of characters to choose from. The gameplay on the other hand felt like it was missing feedback, i wasnt too sure what was going on. especially the end, the time hadnt run out but it halted to the final screen. Apart from those minor things great entry!

Very good game, lots of fun! The art style is a little inconsistent (between resolutions), but really well done.

Eating fleeing nerds is always solid entertainment. Lovely presentation and easy to control - fun stuff!

I think it would have been more fun if I had an ability to charge up my dash then release for more speed and distance. Pretty fun though anyway.

I felt a bit stuck when moving after growing a bit. But the different characters for time travelers was exactly what The Doctor prescribed!

Wow nice artworks... really cute little sprites. Love the minimalistic gameplay a lot and hope you had fun to create it with GameMaker... cause my gameMaker left me in the lurch :-/

Have clarified on the art side of things following the comments here. Unfortunately there will be no Linux, Web or Mac builds of the game because it was built in GameMaker and I am poor as hell! :)
