Node Alpha by Geckoo1337

[raw]
made by Geckoo1337 for LD31 (JAM)
Alert! Alert! This is not a nuclear safety exercice. All rooms are contaminated by radioactivity. You must progress in the laboratory in order to reach the unstable core. Use the last droid which is available and try to control it with the camera surveillance. I wish you success. If you need some support, don't ask me (message sent by the director).

How to play with "Node Alpha"?

Once focusing on an artefact (it appears red), the left mouse button increases his rotation adding 45 degrees. The right mouse button decreases his rotation - 45 degrees too. The middle mouse button allows your selected artefact to move in a logical order in accordance with the dynamic base (you will soon discover it - it's a part of the gameplay). Try to connect all artifacts between themselves to supply energy to the blue node wich allows you to reach the next level. Take care! Don't touch the green nodes along the walls with the electric arc because it will do fatally a short circuit and you must restart the level. Maybe it's not really clear for you, but please, try this game. There is three level in order to understand these mecanics as a tutorial. I have created during this LD48 session only 12 levels. It seems to me enough in order to try this gameplay. Thank you ++

I have created this game from scratch, (except some shaders for the FINAL version which has been modified - honestly consider this fact during evaluation) so please, give me some feedback about eventually bug or gameplay. I recommend to you to download this game as application for a better experience. Many systems are available. Have fun ++

-------------------------------------

Alerte! Alerte!

-------------------------------------
Right mouse button -45°
Left mouse button +45°
Middle mouse button /displace artefact

F10 - main menu
F12 - shows your FPS
R - restart level

Interesting puzzler. I had a hard time figuring out what to do and what different things did, but the game is beautifully packaged.

Loving the effects a lot, nice puzzle gameplay also. A bit too gloomy music for my taste, but fun stuff overall. I guess portal is heavily referenced? ;-)

This is really nice - the graphics are top-notch, and the levels feel polished. However, one of the controls is weird - middle mouse button to move the cubes? It would be better to map that to space, or enter. Overall, though, it's a very nice game. Good job.

Very nice puzzle game! The first levels did a fine job explaining the puzzle. Not sure how it fits with the theme, though :) The mouse wasn't locked in the web player window, which did get a little frustrating once in a while. Also it it sometimes felt a bit too tough to have to restart the whole level because of a single mistake. It got pretty hard in the end!

Portal clone :) Good graphics but I don´t really think it fits with the theme...

It's certainly impressive that you did an entire 3d puzzle game! It has possibilities; I only have two complaints...First, clicking on the cubes I often find myself clicking outside the window and using focus. (Well, maybe that could be solved if I played the download version rather than the web version...) And second, it just seems slow. I found myself hoping things would go faster. All in all, though, good work!

Nice little puzzle game. Unfortunately I got stuck in a level (don't know its number) because there was no block with a laser :(

Also it's very annoying that the mouse isn't trapped in the window. I wonder if you can still fix this.

The graphics are very nice, especially in the final version.

Great visuals and mood in general. Controls are bit strange, when the mouse is going out of the unity player the player looses focus somehow (don't know if that's a problem with the unity player in genera). Also it takes way too long to turn and push boxes around imo.
It took quite a while until I understood that you can push blocks with the middle mouse button.

I like puzzles, so I like this game, but I didn't play till the end, because the slow controls.

Interesting puzzle game with a pretty nice evolution curve.
The goal is clear but things to avoid are a bit confusing. When i saw the 1st green spot, i tried to reach it to generate some good effect because it was green (green means good, red mean bad msot of the time except when it's explained in an other way).

I understand your disappointment but the artefacts are red when you focus on it. I have chosen another color which is visible at far. For the controls I guess that nobody wants read the first explanation on this screen. I have written a long explanation in english, french and russian, but for nothing. Please friends - download this game as application to avoid problems with WebPlayer. THX ++

A really good entry. The look reminded me a lot of Portal and your gameplay idea was really nice. The overall presentation was also good but I disliked how the artifacts looked especially the extreme normalmap and the yellowmnode which looked really incoherent.

An awesome puzzle game with an easily understandable goal. I liked that you kept the core concept simple and not overly contrived, as the best puzzles do!

Have you considered making the blocks move/rotate a little faster? I liked that everything felt very deliberate, but it would speed up the process of getting everything in place once you've figured out a solution. :)

Overall, a very solid entry!

Pretty looking game, although the boxes look kinda out of place. I would have also liked if the boxes would have rotated faster. Also I often had no idea, which green dot I accidently hit, so more feedback on that would be great.
I actually don't understand why it's in first person view, I think it would fit much better into a top-down view.

It seems to be looping back to the first level for me?
Interesting art style. Maybe turning the blocks could be a bit faster, and the controls for pushing the block changed.

Nice graphics, and decent gameplay. I would've chosen something else than middle mouse button to push the boxes, but a minor detail though. I had fun, and liked how little changes to the map increased the difficulty. Good game.
