Behind The Fog by fullmontis

[raw]
made by fullmontis for LD31 (JAM)
How fun can be exploring a map the size of a screen? You can find out with Behind the Fog.

In this game, your main purpose is explore the four corners of the map, finding out places and discovering new events, trying to understand what happened.

Go near something interesting in the map and press Space to find out what it is and find new items that you can use for exploring further.

Controls:
- Arrow keys: move around
- Space: ecamine your surroundings, skip dialogue
- left ctrl: bring up the completion menu

Objective: find out everything on the map.

Tested on Firefox 34.0. It should work on other modern browsers but let me know if there is any trouble.

NOTE: the game takes a while to load for some reason, and a black screen appears instead. Just wait until the title screen appears. If the game doesn't load, try the version without sound.

Really liked it. I hoped you could do something with the turtle talisman to revive the dead woman. Well, there are some loose ends, but the fun is imagine what happened. Good game!

I really liked the art style. It would nice to have some animation in there somewhere though. The lighting mechanic was a bit crude but it served it's purpose. The light and the music made for a fairly atmospheric experience.

Everything is great, but when I finished the game, I didn't get any notification. But all things were found/unlocked. That's strange...

The game is pretty good and original compared to other games. I like the whole gloomy feel of the game. Some things I would like to see are maybe reuniting the brothers or going inside the area with hellish screams. The sound version didn't work for me so I had to play it without sound. Overall a pretty nice game!

Loved it, some kind of end screen would have been nice, but loved the treasure-map art style and the writing was good as well (sound didn't work for me)
Great job, congratulations, i enjoyed it a lot.

I loved the atmosphere of this game. It just misses a little something to "end" it.

Very great atmosphere! The slowly revealing areas and the music really set the tone and gave the entire place a somewhat foreboding feeling. Oh and finding the snowman was a nice touch haha! Well done!
